Garland Lakeview Centennial defensive tackle Jordyn Johnson is hearing from several colleges around the country, but has yet to receive an offer. At the top of his wish list is an offer from Texas Tech.

Garland Lakeview Centennial defensive tackle Jordyn Johnson is looking for someone to take a chance on him.

Though the 6-foot-5, 305-pound behemoth is receiving plenty of interest from schools around the country, he has yet to receive a scholarship offer.

"I'm hearing from everybody; Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Iowa State, OU, TCU, UNT, SMU," Johnson said. "It's just nobody is taking the chance and offering me. I feel like I'm going to end up at the first place that offers me because honestly I feel disrespected. I see all these people are getting offers, people from around the area, that I know I am better than. I proved it.

Grades?

I don't know but if grades were to be a real concern then why did he attend the Nike camp?

Johnson is listed on Rivals, Scout and 247 but none give him a grade/rating. Scout is the only one that lists his interest and they list only two...Texas Tech and Florida. Maybe he shot himself in the foot by not trying to sell himself. He looks like the real deal and I hope that we offer him quickly. If grades are the problem we simply won't accept his commitment until he has clearinghouse approval.

coaches need to offer soon! UNT is the kind of place where academic issues can be handled pretty easily. with the staff's commitment and the schools easier entrance level courses, he could definitely ease his way into college level academics with hard work. that, of course, is if he even has academic issues to begin wih. this kid could be one of the first big bodied DL recruits to choose us and start a trend in the area of kids not going elsewhere (where they were not wanted as much) and riding the bench for 3 years.
