Reality: Texas has a whole lot to prove under Charlie Strong. Since that 2009 Big 12 title and BCS Championship Game loss, it has nothing to show for college football's biggest budget and status as the nation's lone school with its own 24-hour television network.

Wow...this guy summed up Texas football in two sentences.

Dear Texas,

PLEASE, pretty please, keep believing that you have arrived the second you step on campus in Austin. Please keep getting gassed up by your Wal-Mart faithful.

Not gonna lie, but an 8-5 record for Texas is sort of middling with all the hype that school carries. The score gaps in their losses are really telling, too.

As for Baylor, I think they were asleep when they played UCF. UCF came to that bowl game ready to win the day they flew into town. Baylor wasn't ready until the 2nd half but by then, UCF had a rhythm built up and their staff had figured Baylor out. I figured Baylor had that game locked down, too.

Baylor's problem was Baylor. Tthey didn't want UCF. They wanted Ohio St. It was the exact opposite of their bowl game the previous year when they played UCLA. UCLA didn't want to be in the San Diego Bowl and didn't want to play Baylor.

I was also surprised when Baylor got slotted with UCF - but the truth is, if they were good enough to play Ohio State, then they should've beaten UCF handily. Just because Baylor didn't get who they wanted doesn't mean they get to half ass the game. All that did was hurt Baylor.

Baylor also had a ridiculous schedule that propped them up mightily. ONE road win of any substance whatsoever... a humdrum win over a then 2-3 K St. team. Only other road games? A blowout of 3 win Kansas and a near miss 3 point bailout at 4 win TCU. The one ranked team they played on the road saw them get their doors flat blown by Okie Lite 49-17.

Other than that, 8 games at home. UCF was legit all season. Better team won that game.

Make no mistake. As an Aggie living in Waco, I have no love for Baylor. Except when they play tu and tu-norman.

And yet they won the "almighty" Big XII

Whether Baylor slept on the game or not, UCF was the better team and proved it. It's not like it was a fluke game for UCF. Their only loss was by 3 to South Carolina who ended up ranked #4 in the country. They gave Louisville, who ended up ranked #15 (and should have been higher), their only loss of the season.

UCF didn't just win the 1st and 2nd quarter (a possible indication that Baylor was asleep), but they also won the 4th quarter which the better team should win unless there is a blowout. Baylor only won the 3rd quarter by a 2 point conversion in the lowest scoring quarter. Keep in mind that Baylor scored with about 1 minute to play to make the score look better.

It's not like O'Leary hasn't beaten Briles before. He's now 2-1 against him.

They almost lost to SMU...the entire American Airlines Conference should be ashamed to have them as champ.

So shouldn't the Big 12 be more ashamed of their champ then since they got beat by the AAC champ? UCF beat Baylor by more than they beat SMU. Didn't the Big 12 champ also lose a game by 32 points? UCF's only loss was by 3 points to the #4 team in the country. They also beat 2 top 20 teams including spoiling an undefeated season.

Almost lost = win. Tell me, last season would you have rather had an almost loss against pitiful USM and a win against Georgia over what what actually happened? Would you have been embarassed by that or thrilled with those results? Very similar situation except SMU >> USM last season.

I really enjoyed Baylor getting their ass handed to them...they thought all they had to do was show up and take the win at the Fiesta Bowl.

UCF came to win....just like Boise State took it from Oklahoma. Baylor had a spoiled brat attitude about the bowl match-up. That's the beauty about college football. Underdogs can win...how bad do you want it?

I'm personally ready for North Texas to upset a P5 again....it's TIME!
