"Free food at UNT@freefoodatUNT17h

Looks like he said "Sawemoff". Did I mention anything about "break em off"?

Sorry, that one had been added since I looked. . . . I assumed you were talking about the "BreakEmOff" mentioned above.

Either figure you want to use to describe it, I hope that's what we're planning to do.

I think A&M has forgotten about good old UT. UT has fallen behind the Aggies and I keep waiting for all those UT fans that said A&M would fail in the SEC to step up and eat crow. Not an Aggie fan but like them much more than UT.

You'll be waiting a long time. Those same UT fans will now tell you how overrated the SEC is, how Manziel's departure will lead to aTm falling apart (no, for real this time...promise) and that they were one 20 point ass-Whoopin against Baylor away from a Big XII title.

Speaking of which. Since most of A&M's (penis envy) fight song has to do with Texas, are they thinking about changing some of the words?

I hear they're adding a caw to it.

They are welcome to it. Historically they have weathered ridicule much better than us. Who else could have a joke book published about them and then still grow in popularity through the years.

No. The song that you are referring to is not the fight song.

It's not A fight song. According to Wiki

"The Aggie War Hymn is the war hymn of Texas A&M University; officially, the school does not have a fight song."

But to the casual observer, it certainly walks (marches) like a duck and quacks like a duck.

AND (prompting my needling question) there is more reference to Texas in the "War Hymn" than there is to A&M,

Hullabaloo, Caneck, Caneck

Hullabaloo, Caneck, Caneck

Good bye to Texas University

So long to the orange and the white

Good luck to dear old Texas Aggies

They are the boys who show the real old fight

'the eyes of Texas are upon you'

That is the song they sing so well

Sounds like Hell!

So goodbye to Texas University

We're gonna beat you all to Chigaroogarem

Chigaroogarem

Rough, Tough, real stuff Texas A&M

So Good bye to texas university

So long to the orange and the white

Good luck to dear old Texas Aggies

They are the boys who show the real old fight

'the eyes of Texas are upon you'

That is the song they sing so well

Sounds Like Hell

So good bye to Texas University...

We're gonna beat you all to

Chigaroogarem

Chigaroogarem

Rough, Tough, Real stuff, Texas A&M

Saw varsity's horns off

Saw varsity's horns off

Saw varsity's horns off

Short! A!

Varsity's horns are sawed off

Varsity's horns are sawed off

Varsity's horns are sawed off

Short! A!

And when there is reference to the Aggies, it sounds like it's coming from a neutral observer.

"Good Luck to dear old Texas Aggies". Shouldn't it say "Good Luck to our dear old Texas Aggies"?

"They are the boys that show the real old fight" Shouldn't this say "We are the boys that show the real old fight."

I shouldn't needle A&M graduates about their school traditions. At least they have them and honor them. But as a former supervisor of mine observed after we returned from a staffing where I made a few unwelcome (but true) comments... "you just love to poke at the rattlesnakes don't you?"

"Texas Fight"

Texas Fight! Texas Fight!
And it's goodbye to A & M.
Texas Fight! Texas Fight!
And we'll put over one more win.
Texas Fight! Texas Fight!
For it's Texas that we love best.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here,
And it's goodbye to all the rest!

Yea, Orange! Yea, White!
Yea, Longhorns! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Texas Fight! Texas Fight!
Yea, Texas Fight!
Texas Fight! Texas Fight!
Yea, Texas Fight!
The 'Eyes of Texas' are upon you,
All the live long day!
The 'Eyes of Texas' are upon you,
You cannot get away!
Texas Fight! Texas Fight!
For it's Texas that we love best!
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here!
And it's goodbye to all the rest!

"The Eyes of Texas"

The eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live long day.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night, or early in the morn.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
'Till Gabriel blows his horn!

One line vs. the entire song.

One line vs. the entire song.

Why does that matter? They both show off their rivalry in the fight song. A lot of Longhorns act like they don't care about the Aggies, just the Sooners. But the Longhorns have the arrogance that has created the situation they are in right now. The Aggies are an easy group to laugh at or to draw offsides, but they also have created for them quite a nice place for the future with the SEC. IN the end, its doubtful that these teams will play each other in anything in a regular season game for years to come.

One line vs. the entire song.

Here's where the real comparison they should care about is. In the mock NFL drafts for this year the Aggies are projected to have three players taken in the top 15 if not top 10. The Bevo's? None in the top 30. You can say all day that these things are cyclical and that Texas is historically better, but 18 year olds aren't real savvy with history. Right now, TODAY, Kevin Sumlin can walk into a living room and tell a kid "watch the NFL draft and tell me where you think your prospects are better...oh yeah, and we play in the SEC".
