Glad to see us get one of the top 4 seeds...it will be a different tournament than in the past because we had played most Sun Belt teams prior to the tournament so we knew how we matched up. Not so with CUSA where we have only played a few teams. Plus this is a 16-team conference so the byes are big.....GO MEAN GREEN!

I do like how they have Top 4 seeds a double bye, they did not do this the previous 2 years, but they also only had 12 teams back then as well.

Shocked to see Tulane at #15 when they were ranked Top 50 in the nation early in the year. FIU may appear tough but they have been the same since Bernstein left for Michigan.

As for the tournament, think it is a 2 horse race between Tulsa and Rice, Marshall and UNT are both well below unfortunately.

UNT really needs to win it first match to set up a meeting with Rice. An upset of Rice would be tough, but if our ladies all played at their best we could compete. I am sure Rice would come into the match very confident and the underdog sometimes wins. If we got to the finals by beating Rice. I think we would have a shot as an at-large team for the NCAA tournament (64 teams).

However, first things first. With our young team, the first match may be really tough for us....need the freshmen to step it up and our Sun Belt tournament winning sophomores to come through.

GO MEAN GREEN!

#11 USM defeats #14 Charlotte 4-3

#15 Tulane defeats #10 ECU 4-0

Must be rain in VA right now as they appear to be playing indoors on 4 cts each match going currently

#9 MTSU leads #16 FAU 2-1

#12 UTEP and #13 UAB still no final results

** Ok not rain but cold I assume 47 feels like 38

looks like FIU will be next opponent, again playing 4 cts as it appears to be indoors due to cold.

Steamrolling USM right now, interesting FIU only has 5 players in line-up

#15 Tulane rolling against #7 ODU right now as well up a set on 3/4 of courts. http://odusports.com/fls/31100/live/tenn2/xlive.htm

So proud of the job that Coach Lama & company have done with this team over the years. He knows what he's doing and has brought in increasingly more talented players over the years. Good luck Mean Green Tennis! Gotta love the "UN". :-)

Well just got to check again after an 8 hr drive and USM came back to upset FIU 4-2, so the ladies caught a break.
