Interview with a SEC "Bag Man"

Baby Arm!

Funny. Just last night I was having a conversation with a guy very well connected to college sports. (Not NT.) And he said that the "going rate" for a college basketball player is about $25k. He also said that basketball pays more across the board than football.

Wow. There's a benefit not being in a BCS conference.

I wonder why some big media organization hasn't made a big project of bring this out in the open. It would not be easy at all but given enough resources and smarts it could be done. SEC could be primed to be brought down like the SWC ... in terms of national perception, not broken up.

The SEC is crumbling in the perception of the nation. Football in that conference is becoming a legitimate semi-pro, fast track to the NFL conference. Money has been thrown at recruits from sec schools for years. But guys such as the one in this article are trained on how to get benefits to certain players then are given the opportunity to be a financial sponsor to active players or potential recruits. This could be hemmed up, but the NCAA would have to spend a good bit of money and resources to hem it up. It's a pretty frustrating ordeal.

The NCAA could care less. You think the SEC buys players? They buy NCAA silence by the revenue they generate for said NCAA.

Sounds like a lot of money and hard work spent on cheating. Imagine what you could do with all of your time and money spent on something other than finding ways to cheat at college sports....
