I wasn't able to see the game because of a work schedule that wouldn't let me get off until the OU traffic made seeing the game impossible. However, I understand that we were up 2-0 before we let them back in the game. We are now in a good position to challange for another SBC title, however we still have to play some good team on their home fields.

North Texas stuns #20 Denver

The University of Denver fell to North Texas 3-2 in two overtimes in Denton, Texas. This loss marks the Pioneers' first conference loss in 25 matches. The last loss recorded against a conference team was on September 21, 2001, against North Texas. Senior Melissa Behrent and junior Maggie Kirchhoff scored the Pioneers' two goals. The loss snaps Denver's seven game winning streak and drops them to 9-2-0 (2-1-0) on the season. The Pioneers were tied when freshman goalkeeper Danielle Wiley received a red card in the 76th minute for touching the ball out of the box. The game remained tied and was forced into its first overtime. The match was still scoreless until North Texas struck with 24 seconds left in the second overtime. A goal from Kristen Campbell ended the Pioneers winning streak and put North Texas up 3-2.

On what website is Denver ranked 20th? i was wondering, because any site i have looked at, doesn't have them nationally ranked, and on one site, they are tied for 8th in the region with SMU and kansas, right behind NO.7 Texas, and Texas isn't nationally ranked at the moment, and this was going into this past week. I just wanted to know what site has them ranked?

Oh, so does nobody even bother to look at collegesoccer.com?? i think that it is more indepth and breaks down everything by every region! Go to the website, then go to college services, and then to rankings. It also shows, what teams were played that week before and the out come of the games. I like this site way more than soccer buzz! it seems to hold true more than buzz.com. Also, if you look at teams and their schedules, it gives you the wins and losses of there opponents, and what programs are ranked that they played!

Who ever said i wasn't a UNT fan? I go to almost every home game, other than this weekends, and i am friends with over half of the team! I saw nothing wrong in my statement about me liking one website more than the other? does anyone else feel offended by that remark? i mean the question is, if your so touchy, why don't you stop posting and reading. all i did was ask people a question. your attitude wasn't needed or called for.

I find both sites interesting the collegesoccer site ranked Denver 16th. However the SoccerBuzz site has been supported by most of the college coaches that I know. It was the only ranking service I saw during recruiting used by any school. Perhaps it is because they focus on women's soccer. I also think that their rankings are more accurate, but I haven't run an analyzed either.

For what it is worth, I had a series of email discussions with the editors at Soccerbuzz. They think that North Texas is a very overlooked team. They said part of the reason for that was that we tend to take players who are less well known, but the major reason was that the total athletic reputation of North Texas was so bad. Currently they are using only staff to vote, but they have defined staff to include a lot of folks who would never have thought they were staff.

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

If you are not a UNT fan, why do you keep posting?

I'm not speaking for Cerbus, but:

1. I think he posted that because when res1dg16 posted the site where they found Denver ranked,(which you asked for) instead of saying "thank you for posting the site" you complained that we didn't read the site that you like.

2. You do come across as somewhat arrogant in your posts as if we don't know about college.soccer.com then we are all buffoons.

3. Cerebus is an ADMIN for the site. I don't think he is going to stop posting.

Bafoons huh? i neevr recalled me even saying anything like that. also, when i asked what site that people were looking at, i had already mentioned the collegesoccer.com website. so when i was told about soccerbuzz, i simply asked if no one had looked at that site? how ever it was taken, it was taken the way they wanted to. I didn't say anything maliciously and try to piss anyone off.

HEY REB, where was it that showed Denver at 16th?? the last few weeks, that haven't been ranked nationally on that site, that is why i asked the question in the first place, and they also haven't been any higher ranked regionally than 7 and now they are 10, even after the loss. I have looked at the archives and was unable to find a ranking of 16th anywhere. i would appreciate it, if you would be able to tell me where it was that you saw that, cause i might be missing it. Hey reb, thanks for coming across as a nice person and not saying things that don't pertain to you. greatly appreciated..

Who ever said i wasn't a UNT fan?

Uh.. Let me see... You!

I am not a UNT fan as you are, but i am a fan of those that play for UNT soccer! i happen to be friends  with many of the girls and i support the girls in their play, but not the team!  ... i coudl care less if UNT ever wins another game

I've had to delete your posts before, when you posted accusations at coaches with no evidence. I know you have a problem with the coaches. I know that pretty much every post you make is an underhanded comment about them or their team under achieving. In fact, when we say the soccer team had a big win, you rush over here to say it wasn't that big a deal.

You are friends with some of the players, but by your own words, you are not a fan of UNT. If you are not a fan of UNT and all you do is come over here and post negative comments, you are going to get banned, end of story.

The collegesoccer site is down right now so I can't give you a link, but when I was on it I found a link to rankings, and on the week of Oct 6, Denver was ranked 16th. UNT was ranked in the low 100's. I think less than 110, but I thought we were lower than our record should justify.
