This may be a silly question but I've never attended a spring game and was wondering what the atmosphere is like. Are there bands or the green brigade there? Will there be food of any sort? Are we able to sit wherever or is it restricted seating? Just a few questions regarding this Saturday

The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Sit any where in the stadium.

I do not know if the Club Level will be open.

Come early because there will be fans tail gating, visit with friends.

Visit the campus, shop the stores for NT gear.

The Green - White game runs about 100 plays.

Bands-I do not know.

It has a little more "game" feeling than any spring practice but it's not up to regular gameday atmosphere. There are no bands or introductions. However, the game is announced over the stadium speakers.

You can sit anywhere on the pressbox side that you want. I don't know about the club level. Most spring games have not had concessions open but I believe that changed with the move to Apogee.

It's a fun time visiting with old friends and watching certain players. All will participate so it may be a rare occasion to see some of the scout team members.

Likely a bit heavier on the CO2...given the crowd.

Nah, still plenty of trees on the hill until the convention center is built.

Eta: No GMG football game should result in less CO2 as well!

now that we know about the atmosphere, what about the climate?

now that we know about the atmosphere, what about the climate?

The North Texas climate is subtropical with hot summers. It is also continental, characterized by a wide annual temperature range. Average annual precipitation also varies considerably, ranging from less than 28 to more than 48 inches (700–1200 mm). Severe storms are frequent in the spring, as the area lies in the southern section of "tornado alley".
Average annual rainfall for North Central Texas, south is the prevailing wind direction, and southerly winds are frequently high and persist for several days. Strong northerly winds often occur during the passage of cold fronts. Dusty conditions are infrequent, occurring mostly with westerly winds. Dust storm frequency and intensity depend on soil conditions in eastern New Mexico, west Texas, and the Texas Panhandle.
Winters are mild, but northers occur about three times each month, and often are accompanied by sudden drops in temperature. Periods of extreme cold that occasionally occur are short-lived, so that even in January mild weather occurs frequently.
The highest temperatures of summer are associated with fair skies, westerly winds and low humidities. Characteristically, hot spells in summer are broken into three-to-five day periods by thunderstorm activity. There are only a few nights each summer when the low temperature exceeds 80°F (27°C). Summer daytime temperatures frequently exceed 100°F (38°C). Air conditioners are recommended for maximum comfort indoors and while traveling via automobile.
Throughout the year, rainfall occurs more frequently during the night. Usually, periods of rainy weather last for only a day or two, and are followed by several days with fair skies. A large part of the annual precipitation results from thunderstorm activity, with occasional heavy rainfall over brief periods of time. Thunderstorms occur throughout the year, but are most frequent in the spring. Hail falls on about two or three days a year, ordinarily with only slight and scattered damage. Windstorms occurring during thunderstorm activity are sometimes destructive. Snowfall is uncommon. The map (above) shows the average annual rainfall for North Central Texas.
The average length of the warm season (freeze-free period) is about 249 days. The average last occurrence of 32°F (0°C) or below is mid March and the average first occurrence of 32°F or below is in late November.

In the stands, it's generally very laid back. The action on the field is very intense though. Unless you are watching or have vested interest in a specific player, you will be ready for it to be over when it comes to an end.

YEP. This is how we felt last year at our first spring game.

Sunblock, too. If it's going to be as nice as they say....?

I remember going to a Dodge spring game with about 500 people in the stands. They brought that cannon and shot it everytime they scored a touchdown. Well our defenses sucked back then and both teams were technically the good guys so they shot the cannon a lot that day. It still scared the crap out of everyone everytime since you could hear a pin drop in Fouts that day.

Cerebus really brought it in this thread.

What's ridiculous is between two throw away posts in this thread and that monkey drummer gif I posted in another, I have doubled the amount of +1s I got in the entire 30 page Ukraine thread.

Philistines.
