I got a little catching up to do. Thanks to UNTrecruitingnews for the insight.

6'6" 300 lb offensive lineman. Plays left tackle for his school and likely projects to tackle in college. Looks like we are the first to offer.

The list of schools that have offered Brazosport offensive lineman Bryce Wilds includes a pretty sizable chunk of the schools in Texas.

UNT offered Wilds in April and is currently joined by Conference USA rivals Rice and UTSA, not to mention Houston and Stephen F. Austin. McNeese State is the lone out of state school to offer thus far.

My number 1 realistic want at right tackle for this class. Evan Curl isn't far behind. Wilds at right and Larry Hughes at left tackle. If we could pull two of those three guys that'd be a great haul at tackle. Apparently we're trying to take three tackles this year.

It appears, IMHO, that our coaches wanted Mundin over Wilds. Could be wrong, and I am sure we would have loved to have had both, but that is my take.

Don't know where you could draw that conclusion. Wilds had other offers while Munden didn't.

Beecham said the coaches told him we're taking 3 tackles this class. Like you said, I'm sure we would've loved to have both, and there should've been room for both had Wilds legitimately wanted to commit here.

Sometimes kids decide not to go to UNT.

It doesn't mean we decided we didn't want them. One look at this kid's offer sheet should tell people that.

The more likely scenario was that Mundin was offered when it became clear this kid wasn't coming to UNT.

The most likely scenario is that we would have taken both.

Yep, this is probably more accurate now that I think about it. Plus, being from that area, he might have wanted to stay close to home.

Exactly why I am okay with reallocating our recruiting assets from the Houston area to focus more on making East Texas the primary hunting ground for UNT coaches. In his area we have three recruiting rivals that are closer to him (Houston, UTSA and Rice). In the East Texas area (NE Texas really) we have a non-existent SMU presence and LA Tech to contend with. We have more than held our own against the La Tech recruiting battles.
