Have we fired McCarney and Canales yet?

No, stop beatin around the bush and name a starter. So come fall he's getting most if not all of the 1st team reps. They have their guy, they just need to be confident in what they are thinking and run with it. Fall reps can't be shared going into the final week or 2 of preparation.

This board was virtually unanimous (including myself) that Derek Thompson could not lead us to a winning season let alone win a bowl game.

Sort of tells you how great the folks are at selecting the best players to play on any given game day, doesn't it? Yet, they learn nothing from their past and continue with the same line of gobblygook. As UNT90 would say...it's a fan board...no problem.

Not one person on this board has the player evaluation experience that any of the coaches on Coach Mac's staff has. They saw what many on this board did not see in DT...they will make the best choice this season as well.

And, no, it was not "virtually unanimous"...you just listened to the gobblygook as it agreed with your original position.

Uh...

I was a DT defender all year and think we will miss him terribly this year.

Wouldn't it be great if he made an NFL team out of training camp? I could imagine the heads twisting off around here.

But yes, it is a message board, where people come to disagree, be jackasses, participate in jackassery, and sometimes release their inner rage. The Internet is not real life.

Coach Dodge is, in fact, the best hire for us...he's a quality coach and a quality person...and he will build a great program with quality players (both on and off the field and in the classroom). What makes YOU think Coach Stephens will not be the same type of coach for us? Give her that chance...

Once again Tasty comes blinking into the light with nothing of substance.....but, Emmitt likes it. That's swell...you get the cool kid award for the night. Now turn the lights off and go back to your room. Edited by KRAM1

How is that nothing of substance? You basically said that you thought Todd Dodge was the best coach for our program and that you figured Shanice Stephens would be, too. They turned out to be the absolute worst coaches in winning percentage we have ever seen here. That's no small feat--we ain't exactly a historical athletic juggernaut...

2008. Yawn! Lots of folks in 2008 liked TD as coach. Didn't work out. Nor did Stephens. Old news. Nothing of substance.
