Beyond The Spring:D-Line

Sounds like a hard nosed guy. I like it. If he can rub off on the D-line I think they will handle their own. I dunno know who the first team DT's will be, but one has/needs to be a space eater to keep guys off our LB's. I think this guy is really, really good for the team and the program moving forward.

The physical grind of battling in the trenches, I imagine (definitely not speaking from experience), requires a unique level of commitment on a daily basis.

A benefit I can see of the timing of this staff change and the Dline turnover is that each player entered the spring with an opportunity to establish a brand new impression on Coach Patrick - both from a talent and a work ethic standpoint. From Mac's video wrap up of Sat's scrimmage, it seems there are several who are taking advantage.

i"m not sure why but your post brought back memories of playing in high school. Physical grind of playing the line can be very tough. Offensive line always seem to beat up my body more than playing the dline. I didn't play in college because my body already had some lasting injuries and I was tired of that grind even though I still loved the game.
