What is his height and who does he replace? Colman I am assuming.

Edited... Gaines I am assuming since I started at the first post and worked my way down.

Mohammed Ahmed (Gillette College (WY), SO.): A Junior College prospect, Ahmed’s strength overpowered opponents on both ends of the floor throughout the Elite Camp. On offense, the rising sophomore exhibited terrific footwork in the low-post, escaping defenders with elusive ball-fakes and spin-moves. Around the rim, the 6-8 forward finished with both hands while displaying a capable mid-range jumper. On the defensive end, Ahmed’s quick feet allowed for the forward to pressure ball-handlers on the perimeter while Ahmed’s size contained opposing big men in the paint.

Definitely loosing some height but hopefully gaining some hustle

Honestly, our best bet is just to go small at this point anyways. Especially if you're going after guys with no other offers. 6'9" guys with no other offers are very rarely the players who will help a team turn around a team with among the most unproductive posts in the conference.

Definitely smaller. Especially if we do lose Colman and bring in the other post player mentioned.

Jones, Taylor, Anefiok, Williams, and Voss would be interesting. Very short but they are the top 5 guys. Run a 4-1 motion and protect the paint with a inside 2-3 zone without spreading it out to the perimeter to much.

1st Flash, now Ahmed. We've really opened up the Wyoming JUCO pipeline.

Hey, the Idaho JUCO pipeline slammed shut after things went sour with Casimiro. Gotta salute the staff for making desolate, rural lemonade here.

Hooray for the Equality State!

Interesting -- he is from the Bronx (like the other guy Benford was looking at) but played one year at Gillette and his first Juco year at Miami Dade.

Here are his stats from Miami Dade:

Pretty impressive progress as a 3-point shooter. Went from not attempting any 3s as a freshman to going 22-46 from deep as a sophomore.

Yes, other than his FT's his numbers are pretty impressive. Sure hope he's the kind of guy who can mesh quickly with the team. We need some firepower among other things.

Flash averaged 3 pts a game, this guy has to be better than Flash. You don't recruit JUCO guys that played like Flash, you recruit JUCO guys to make an immediate impact.
