Very good post.

Do you remember when you use to throw a fit in all the game day threads when we would be down after the first quarter, only to come back to win the game? And then you would disappear for the night?

Well, you are doing the offseason version of that. You truly are the boy old grumpy man who cried wolf.

Excuse me for stepping away from the Internet to enjoy a football game. Wasn't the second half of Ball St. fun?

Or did you miss it while your eyes were glued to the Internet, waiting for my next post?

No, my eyes were simply glued to GMG.com like they always are during a football game. You just happened to jump the gun a lot, like now.

I will defer to Mac on this one, again.

Because I agreed with a post?

I think strong headedness cost us 2 games last year. Ohio and Tulane. Where we refused to throw the ball downfield in the 1st half. Same thing that happened in the first half of that Ball St game to which you refer. Thank God we drastically altered the game plan for the second half.

Canonize Mac all you want, but one of his biggest flaws is having the old DKR philosophy when it comes to the forward pass (which is what I envision Mac calling it in coaches meetings).

Again, that's fine, as long as you win.

Regardless of the BS said on this board, if McNulty or Greer starts and it becomes a wash season who then do we hold accountable when a PROBABLE better player is sitting there on the bench? I think the tune of trust in Mac will be far different when we could be sitting here mid-season at 2-4. Give him a rebuilding pass in his fourth year? That's when a coach is suppose to have his players in his system preparing to perform at a high level. I am not implying any of this will happen, nor am I hoping it happens. I hope I am proven wrong and if Greer indeed is the starter he carries us to success. I will get in here and humbly apologize and eat my crow. Excuse me for stating my opinions, but we as fans must have and keep high expectations. Or another 10-year losing streak is sitting there on the horizon waiting for us.

Odd to start a post in such a way and then follow it up with so much BS.

Maybe so. I think I'm pretty much going to say whatever BS I want though. Bottom line is this...6-6 is unacceptable, I don't give a rats ass who the QB is, but 6-6 is garbage against a garbage schedule.

How do you feel about 16-16?

I would add that the bias is because he beat out McNulty for the #2 spot in fall camp last year as a true freshman.

That's why he was on the field against Idaho, and not McNulty. That's why he was taking 2nd team practice snaps (saw this myself) the Thursday before the Idaho game and McNulty wasn't.

That's why people are high on him, not because he is black.

To be clear, I never said people are high on him or think he should win the job because he's black. I said that some people are making the assumption that he's a superior athlete based on the fact that he has a similar build and melanin-content to RGIII (I've seen the comparison made).

And furthermore...and certainly more importantly...DW won the #2 job last year. He beat out an upper-classman transfer and supposedly the guy who only has a roster spot because he's the son of one of McCarney's buddies. He did it based on performance, no?

So...would it not stand to reason that if DW...the guy who won the #2 last year before getting hurt ("hurt")...doesn't win the #1 this year, it again would be based on performance?

Ben is never going to understand that his opinions make no sense and are not based on anything quantifiable.

Not sure I even noticed him until he decided he wanted to take a shot at me.

Must be his ego that led him to such a bad decision.

Well, my opinion is out there. If either of the aforementioned start come back to this forum at midseason. Numbers won't have to be analyzed and plugged, our record will speak for itself.

One would hope so. But you have to remember that number 2 is not number 1.

I think with the overly conservative offense Mac has ran since coming here, there is the thought that that is the offense he wants to run and wants the same of his QB.

Naming McNulty starter would scream the above. Greer is the wildcard because no one has seen him play. DW already beat out AM as a true freshman. Unless AM has had arm replacement surgery, he isn't going to beat out DW, who has almost a full year of experience under his belt.

Is DW pissing his chance away as Cali seems to indicate? Or does Mac simply want a bus driver because he wants a bus for an offense?

I think that is the question that is not being formed so well by young BG.

But it is a legitimate question.

Again, this is all off-season talk and I don't care who is QB as long as we win. And I don't care if we win every game 6-3, as long as we win.

And what will you compare that record to? The imaginary one you've projected our record will be if and only if DW is the starter?

Took a shot at you? Bc I told you to delete your account bc you came on here with a pessimistic attitude? That's taking a shot? I know Laurie can be either a man or woman's name, right?

I don't disagree with most of this. It is tough to hand the keys to a freshman, and that may come into play...what if we end up with more a Meager/Vizza situation?

I'll also stand by my assertion that the conservative offense is about half Mac...and about half having Derek Thompson as your quarterback...but unlike young BG (who as a college student/graduate(?) really needs to learn how to formulate a coherent argument) I'll reserve a full-on, bravado-laden statement until I actually have a baseline to make comparison.

BG... Brah... Outside of being team FS32, there's not another guy on the roster I'm cheering for more than D-Dub. You've got to do yourself a favor and hide your contempt for the other two bros mabes a bit more.

I hate you ever since you started dating that high school chick.

I'm not trying to make room for debate. If I wanted that I would start with "do you/y'all think...fill in the blank." What I have said is my opinion and nothing more. DW very well may be hurting or have already killed his shot. If that's the case, we are in for it. I'll still go to Austin, Bloomington, SA, and all the home games, but it could be a painful season if DW is already getting buried during spring ball.

lost in a little of that lingo, but it is what it is. I want what's best for the team and I obviously have to trust the staff here. Like UNT90 has said several times, at the end of the day I don't care who the QB is as long as W's are being produced.
