Sorry NT03 and UNT90 both wrong here. Both Iowa and Tennessee were set LONG ago.

Originally, Tennessee was supposed to be 2011, but I guess they moved it for the opening season of Apogee. Iowa and Tennessee were both on the books at LEAST since 2009.

Thanks , I thought the date was sooner , but that's the only link I could find.

FWIW it's worth the stadium fee was passed in Oct of 2008

So it's pretty obvious that you don't get out of a contract with the big boys unless they want to buy you out, which means hello 5 home game season for the 2nd time in 4 years.

And wasn't the student approval of the athletic fee in 2008? So didn't we know the stadium was coming?

Iowa isn't a "2 for 0" series. It is 2 separate body bag games. Just as if it was Iowa and some other P5 team in a different year.

We never have scheduled did two separate body bag games with another school within two years of the games being played--not with anyone else...but we do that with Iowa for 2015 and 2017? I'm sorry, but that is my defnition of a 2 for none series...

I actually like our 2015 schedule. Two opportunities against P5 schools that hopefully won't be top 10 teams plus an away game just down the road against a team we love to hate.

If we occasionally have to do that to pay the bills then so be it. Not much different that the other non P5 schools I looked at. Everyone has peaks and valleys in their scheduling. Like it or not, we are coming off basically a decade of being a bottom 10 team and that perception won't change overnight with boosters of other programs that we try to get to come to Denton. Imagine them railing on their AD for scheduling an away game at 'North Texas Freaking State'.

I trust it only gets better from here as long as the team does its part with W's. I really feel like we are at the beginning of a nice run for UNT football.

And they don't have the same reaction to ULM or any of the other schools NT03 listed? Yet they get it done.

How about a 5 game home season in 2016 or 2017? Still a real possibility. Speaking of perception, you want to keep sending your alumni the message that you are small time? Keep having 5 home game seasons. You will fit right in with ULM, without the home game with Baylor, of course.

I'm guessing you are not a season ticket holder, and definitely not a club seat holder.

I used to be just like you until I looked at the schedule closer, and looked at the number of money ganes already signed and the lack of flexibility that it is causing. I suggest you do the sane.

Seriously? Our 2015 OOC IS at Iowa, at Tennesse, and at SMU, with an open date to hopefully buy a home game against Talleywacker St. The 3 away games are done deals. contracts are signed.

Football schedules are far less flexible than any other sport. Can you name the last time we voided a contract? What, 7 or 8 years ago? When WE were bought out?

We are less than 18 months out from 2015. That schedule ain't changing. I have an extremely slight hope that Iowa will buy out of the series which would (hopefully) allow us to buy a home game to replace them in 2015. But that would be against an FCS team.

And that would mean we would either have to buy 2 home games or find someone willing and able to do a one and one (here 2015, there 2016) on extremely short notice. The likelyhood of either of these 2 things happening is EXTREMELY remote.

Like I said prior to 2012, a 5 game home season is on the horizon. Close your eyes all you want, it ain't going away.

Fly's comment that we have to pay the bills should tell you that much.

What other brilliant insight to have into the world of scheduling? Obviously it's your expertise.

I mean between this flash of brilliance and all your other futurespeak...are you Marty McFly?

Do we have 5 home games in 2017? I gotta know now.

Also, I require pr00f plz upload photos of 2017 schedule from 2017. They have smartphones in 2017 still, right? Google Glass works too.

The only point I was trying to make is that your statement was wrong about when we scheduled Tennessee. I just like being right when others are wrong. :)
