UNT Scrimmage wrap (some bad injury news)

UNT finished up its first big scrimmage of spring practice a few minutes ago.

Im back with some wrap-up news and notes.

The big news tidbit to come out of the conversations I had with UNTs staff and players after the game is not a good one unfortunately.

Man what a bummer for the kid to work so hard and possibly have his college career end like that. Hope he can get back on the field later in the fall.

That is really bad news. I hope he keeps his positive attitude (this young man is very upbeat and positive) up and resolves to contribute in his last season here.

I was glad to see Shawn McKinney out there. At the very end of the 3-22 scrimmage he went down and was in a lot of pain. He limped over to the training table where they started working on him. I later heard that it was a sprain.....obviously not a bad one. I have to say that, at this point, I would be more concerned about losing one of our starting O-linemen to an injury than one of our QB's.

Obviously, tough circumstances for Quenton Brown. Obviously, Freddie Warner can offer some support in how to handle the frustration of this situation and I have no doubt Mac's "Mean Green Family" will really rally around him.
