North Texas vs. Texas

I know....This is the football thread.

I was late heading to the NT/Texas softball game yesterday. We got to "the 'Lace" midway through the first inning. The score was 6-0 before NT got to the plate.

Anyway, this was the first time in my history of going to North Texas sporting events that I was told the game was a sellout and I was turned away. I was relegated to the right field parking lot to stand and look over the fence with a lot more orange clad fans than green. But it was fun being turned away in a bizarre way. Too many fans. Many Longhorns but too many fans.

Just wait until August 30.

I got there shortly before you. It was a fun atmosphere...lines at the concession stand, kids playing football behind the stands, many, but respectful, Horn fans and a decent NT turnout.

Great games from our #2 (Poole in relief in game one) and #3 pitchers.

And we had a chances to win game 2 in the 6th and 7th....close loss.

I think we our non-conference mixed confidence builders with some tough competition and set us up for conference. Glad we play Top 25 Tulsa to end the season.

And the ladies beat Oklahoma State tonight, 4-3.

Love this coach....WINNER.

Sad when visitors outnumber your home crowd, but at the same time nice to have visitors show up. At least they were civil much unlike UTSA football fans.
