I read several postings regarding a group of North Texas fan's were putting together

a parade float representing North Texas.

Are there any up dates on the parade participation and the North Texas float?

Any chance that Coach Mac and Johnny Quinn could be on board?

The parade will be this Saturday 03/15, starting at 11:00 am.

Thanks

We did talk about this. Then reality set in. There is a $1,000 entry fee ($500> if the entry is a 501©3). Then there was the cost of a float. We found one we could use for a fee of $500 (?). We also had to provide insurance for the event and I'm sure there are other factors that entered in.

It was more money than I have right now. I contacted the Athletic Department for some help and they didn't see the St. P Parade as the best place for limited funds so the project was dropped.

We can try again next year, although we won't be coming off a HoD Bowl victory and we won't have a Johnny Quinn fresh from the Sochi Olympics.

This was the year for the Mean Green to join with other green but it was a bigger project than I anticipated.

We don't need a float, we have a unique 1929 Model A that does the advertising for you.

We have spent tens of thousands of dollars on this vehicle and all it's ever done is sit in a warehouse. But hey, at least when it does roll it makes no sound and doesn't burn any fossil fuel. That...that is the most important part.

Only at North Texas!

Rick,

Do we really want Johnny Quinn anywhere near the Model A?

I have no doubt that poor Johnny would have to push the sad Model A at least half the route.

He could use his mad bobsledding skills to push it down the street from the side and jump in to pop the clutch...

Wait...something tells me there aren't many battery operated cars with a clutch.
