UT is not worried about North Texas, at all.

I wanted to get an idea of what UT fans or bloggers thought about the game on Aug 30. So I started looking around and found that the generalized thinking is that North Texas is UT's easiest game of the year. I hope the players have heard the same and if the coaching staff isn't already using this as bulletin board material right now they are in the wrong. North Texas must be competitive in this game. Formula to win this game is 1. Stop the run 2. Limit big plays 3. And let DW (if he starts) go off. By that I mean if we try to run the football 40 times with a what will probably be a 1-2 yard avg we will get ran out if the building. The O has to be wide open. This game is a potential game changer for our program and school. There's my 2 cents for what it's worth. GMG

I don't know why they would be worried about us; the closest we've played them in over a decade was a 27-point loss in which we never scored.

Our defense and special teams will have play at the top of their game to keep us in this contest. I think it's possible. Especially if we get some turnovers. We're playing with the house money on this one, as no one expects us to win. Every other aspect of this game will be in their favor.

Good I hope they don't worry about us at all.

Yup. Hope they completely look over the game. Make sure the kids do too.

UT was recently given the award of hardest OOC, due in large part to us as well as other difficult teams. Sadly, they won't be looking over us.

Guaranteed it'll be a nailbiter for them.

The main thing in our favor (small as it may be to some of you out there) is that our team is used to Mac's system, with our veteran players helping the younger guys get more comfortable. ALL the UT players will still be learning and trying to get comfortable with Coach Strong's.

Exactly this. Most of the same coaches, same system, continuity breeds success. We haven't had that luxury before.

strong's defense as well as bedford's defensive scheme is similar to ours. it is simple and they want to play fast. the horns have a lot of talent coming back on D especially in the back field so lets hope our experienced OL can help us out because i seriously doubt that the WRS will do too much for us other than the slot.

I was at the gym last week, and some d-bag high school kids were talking about where they were going to college. One said "UT". Another asked "UT or UNT?" The little prick said, "UT. I'd kill myself if I went to UNT." Then another said, "They have one of the ugliest campuses in the nation." I told him how that article was crap, and tat she never visited the school, and she even used Fouts in her article, and we don't even use Fouts anymore. His reply, "What is Fouts?"

How the hell are you going to talk shit about my school, when you don't even know what the eff you are talking about.

I effing hate T-sips.

I hate T-sips as well, because I'd "rather kill myself than go to UT."

Anyway, this is kinda pathetic. I'm filing this under "things that really happened" or these kids went home and told their parents about how some creepy NT alum told them off.

Alright I've been biting my tongue but they aren't a rival folks. Besides the fact that they are in-state we play them once in a blue moon. You're embarrassing yourselves by pretending it is and t-sips is a Texas A&M term. As much as I'd love to beat them, I won't pretend this is some type of storied rivalry..

No one said it is a rivalry or even hinted at it being one. It's not one and I think everyone knows that. I just think it's funny that they look down their noses at us while giving up 500 yards rushing to BYU and getting spanked at home by Ole Miss.

What dies BYU of Ole Miss have to do with anything?

As someone already pointed out, our closest loss was 27-0. And many of our alums celebrate that loss, for some unknown reason.

I'm hoping we keep it under a 24 point margin.
