What we need is a North Korea megathread. Good Lord do we need that. I would love to go on an on about Kim Il Sung, the mother cult (Kim Il Song is the mother of all North Koreans), The Juche Idea, the fact that no one wants to topple the regime (Not China, not the US, and sure as hell not South Korea) and the myth of the purest race.

But Ukraine is all blowin up, so it will have to wait. For now, those wacky North Koreans almost knock down a Chinese Airliner:

I went to the DMZ at PanMunJom in 1997. That was an experience. There is a 3-hole golf course on the south side with signs that read not to chase out of bounds balls because of land mine danger. The North Korean side blares monologue over giant speakers that invites the South Korean soldiers to join them because they have too much meat and can't finish it all. The South Korean military places Korean marines, picked from a very young age, who are HUGE and MEAN to guard the joint meeting buildings. Both sides constructed fake towns with nobody in them to show the other how prosperous they are. I always referred to that day as a visit to Disneyland with guns and land mines.
