Long before Mike Grant became one of Dan McCarney’s trusted assistant coaches, he began his career working behind the scenes in the world of recruiting.

Grant had just finished his career as a quarterback at Nebraska and was looking for a start in coaching as a graduate assistant. When nothing was immediately available, Grant landed a job as an assistant to the recruiting coordinator at his alma mater.

Grant always wanted to take advantage of what he learned during those new months before he became a graduate assistant at Nebraska and will now have that opportunity after taking over as UNT’s recruiting coordinator.
