In regards to spring practices

I'm in my second semester of my freshman year so this will be my first chance to attend spring practices and I full on intend to! I think we're all interested in seeing the new team. I want to attend coach Mac's presser at 11:30 at Apogee but where do I go for that? Also, I have class until 5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so about how much practice will I be able to see? Hope to meet some of y'all there! Thanks and GMG!

In regards to the presser, the Mercer room up on the suite level is kind of small, and will be filled with press folks. I attended one before the beginning of the season when they were unveiling the Centennial uniforms to grab some stuff for the Alumni Association, and even then, I was given quizzical looks - typically only press are at these things.

Couldn't tell ya how much of practice will still be going on by 5 as it starts at 3:30, but frankly, I think we're all excited for them finally opening up these things to the public.

As a former NT Daily sports guy, we always had to notify the Sports Information Director of the sport beforehand to attend the presser. I think the prefer it press only. You can however stream it online most of the time. We would do that if we had to be in class and couldn't get someone to cover a presser.

Wish I saw this beforehand, haha. Some odd looks for sure. On the bright side one of my classes is cancelled so I'll be at the practice fields. But for real though? Apogee is such a great facility. Really nice. First time seeing anything but student section.

Practices are "generally" two hours long (24 five minute periods).

???

Spring practices have been open to the public since Mac arrived.

Never understood all the huff and puff over this issue. Hell, I watched a fall practice from outside the fence without a problem.

Really? I had been turned away by RV before.

Spring practices have always been open as best I remember, but for the Fall practices, Dodge closed them, including some of the scrimmages. Vitto was even bared from scrimmages at one time. in fact SUMG, Silver and I were escorted out for being Communist Okie Spies one time.

I said.."What me a communist?". Then I pointed to SUMG and Silver and said.."but these two...just look at 'em, their guilty as sin".

Off subject, but one of my best memories was watching cowboys practices behind the fence at Valley Ranch as a kid. Eventually made a connection that got us inside the fence. My dad used to watch behind the fence all the time when they were in North Dallas off 75 and 635.
