DiCaprio isn't gonna win.

If I get time at work tomorrow I will post all my predictions. I am a decent predictor. Last year I only missed 3 categories, but usually I miss more like 6-8.

Usually, I would take the time to explain my reasoning for these, but I'm at work, trying to finish up stuff so I can listen to our game in a few hours (so I then can go home and watch the Academy Awards). Note, these are not necessarily what I want to win, but what i expect to win.

Wow. That's a lot of Oscar predictions for Gravity. Aren't this many normally only given out to blockbuster or really critically acclaimed pictures?

Gravity wasn't either of those, was it?

Gravity was both. It's rottentomato score is 97% positive and it grossed 270 million dollars dometically (worldwide its gross is over 700M).

Only really saw one movie this year (I blame studying and my wife who falls asleep in all movies), I must say McConaughey better win some awards for Dallas Buyer's Club.

This is why I should never comment on pop culture. Lol.

didn't see this topic until this morning...

here was my personal rankings of the films

Gravity
12 Years a Slave
Nebraska
Her
Wolf on Wall Street
Philomena
Dallas Buyers Club
Captain Phillips
American Hustle

i figured 12 years would win though, mainly due to it being more of a 'correct' Oscar choice

12 Years A Slave was the best movie of the year by a progressive integrated mile.

:D

It wasn't my favorite, but I have no issue with it winning. I mean Her (the best of last year IMHO) wasn't ever going to.

Whoever else saw Gravity...were you thinking, "Female Cast Away in Space" the WHOLE time? It was very well-paced, but damn...even Wilson made an appearance (no spoilers for the rest of you).
