Lorient’s Career Game Propels Mean Green To 76-67 Win Over Temple
It was fun and loud. Let’s keep this train rolling. Sunday will be a tough crowd to get with the playoffs but next Saturday for the Runners it should be off the chart. Start recruiting your group now and get the Pit rocking maniaco style on 2.1.25. I love that we have a basketball program to be proud of and it’s no fluke. This year is shaping up to be special. 24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker
These are some good ideas and the reason I say get input from multiple sources and not just rely on a promotion's person. The drum line would be great at games and I'd increase the size of the basketball band. We have 500 in the green brigade, get at least 100 in the basketball band. That increases the excitement and makes it a fun atmosphere. I still think having a Guyer, Ryan, Braswell, Denton High night would be great. Have their bands, drill team, cheerleaders perform pregame and at halftime. Cheer and Band parents travel. Also give out free or discounted tickets to the students from each school. These don't seem to hard to do, especially with the number of Wednesday and Saturday/Sunday games we have. -

I try not to think about anything but the present in this new age of NIL and the portal. Enjoy the team we have this year. Lorient will be able to get a ton of money from a power 5 school for his last year of eligibility so just have fun watching him play for the Mean Green!- 2

24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker
Where else would a program that has won a CBI and NIT title in the last decade, while also having a win in the actual NCAA Tournament, plus having a winning record AGAIN, need to even worry about getting an extra boost to come watch the team play a conference game in mid-to-late January? The simple answer is nowhere. The Denton excuse that I hate hearing is that there is just too much to do in the Metroplex...no, not on a Wednesday night on a cold night there isn't. But I've been clearly told it's because our marketing/promotions suck and if people just knew that we were good, the place would double in attendance. Sometimes, the fact is that you can lead the hose to water, but you can't make it drink. As for my ideas, it would be to meet the people where they are. Have the College of Music and Arts setup exhibits in the Super Pit's concourse. Have the UNT Drumline perform at halftime and at the end of the game. See if you can get people to come watch them and see if it gets them interested in that athletic thing going on. Now, I realize that the Deans of those Colleges may not want to help nor do anything to help and that would basically cement the argument that nothing will ever work here because of the culture. But it's worth a shot and it would cost nothing. Have a battle of the frats and who can get the best turnout/energy for the game...do the same thing with the sororities, too, at another game. But whatever you do, don't blame the locals and the students...that's CLEARLY hurtful and mean.
