Dan Snyder of the Atlanta Thrashers passed away this morning from injuries sustained when he and team mate Dany Heatley were involved in a car wreck, when Heatley was driving recklesly and crashed his car into a brick-and-wrought-iron fence. Synder sustained a fractured skull and was in a coma since last week. If any one has been following this story, it is a really sad one, not only did the NHL lose a member of their family but Heatly's bright future might be gone as well because he is facing several felony charges including vehicular homicide in the first degree.

Truely a sad story for the NHL because not only did this act of reckless behavior cost Heatley his promising career, but it ultimately ended the life of a teammate.
