It reminded me of a segment I heard on the radio the other day, about how they used to have a 3rd place game in football. They said it was such a bad game because no one cared that they had to stop it. There is no 3rd place games in US sports so I really wonder if Americans just hate playing for bronze and brush it off.

How does it help Benn and benefit the Stars?

How does it not? Still a young player that was just named captain to his team few months ago. Never been to the playoffs but trying to lead his team. He's playing with the best players in the world on the same team and he's standing individually out and having success. Yes that only helps going forward in terms of leadership, maturing, and taking the next steps on learning how to win.

Not saying he couldn't do that if he wasn't on the Olympics this year but attitude and perspective can certainly change when you go through these experiences.

AS for Team USA, is it just me or was the loss to Canada so defalting it carried over to the loss to Finland? In 3 days the US went from "seeing the gold medal in sight" to "watching the medal ceremony from the growd."

That loss most certainly carried over and it's understandable.

If the day ever comes when our best and brightest are devoting themselves to slip and slide Canada Ball instead of a real sport like football... Brother, you may as well wrap sweet Lady Liberty's head with a French flag blindfold and put a bullet through her heart.

Because the communists will have officially won.

Now this is something I can get behind

I understand just being named to the Olympic team helps all of that, but I don't see how making the gold medal game helps.
