Great game. Benn was the best player on the ice by far and that is fantastic news for Stars fans. Really sucks we didn't take this game but there's no shame in losing to the big giant.

I think the Stars will benefit GREATLY with Benn, Kari, and Val's participation in Sochi.

I mean, Canada has been pretty much the best hockey playing country for the history of the sport. Even when the Soviets were dominating, it's not like NHL'ers were playing against them. No, Canada hasn't won every gold since they introduced pros into the tournament, but they should always be the favorite IMHO.

Exactly. It's just like the Americans not winning gold in Athens(I think?). No one in their right mind really thought the U.S. still didn't have the best and deepest talent in the world but for that period of time they just got beat.

I often wonder if we are finding our best athletes in some of these events?

just now a Canadian team just medaled, are you kidding me? We have football players consistently jumping over 10 feet and as far as 11 1/2 feet in the standing broad jump, and as high as 46 inches in the vertical at the NFL combine. And who knows what the highest NBA player vertical jump is? But you can't convince me we don't have some people who can get us to being more competitive than we are in hockey.

surely we can do much better that what we got now?

The Stars need to lock up Benn, Seguin, and Niushkin for the long term and keep them together.
