That can't be right. How the hell is Anthony Evans on the hot seat already ?

Maybe there is more to the story who knows. Or he has a cheap contract. Generally takes 2 or 3 years. Of course if Benford was make 100k a year it would be easier to make a decision.

Hey, I'm not tryingto support Andrew because he does throw some crazy stuff out there, and he does fan the flames, but he also said it best. I don't know why it's not working, but it's not working.

I think it just comes down to benford not being able to motivate the players to do what he wants them to do. I think dodge kind of suffered from the same thing.

I hope smastresk won't allow us to keep him another year at the very least. We have got to get somebody in here that can get the most out of these guys before we really stop getting talent in here.

My vote is still for Danny kaspar, but I would also love to get the current sfa coach if a bigger program doesn't poach him.

The new SFA coach is doing it with Kaspar's players. No bigger program will look at him until he does it 2 or 3 years down the line (if they are smart).

Kaspar would be my choice. We win 20 last year if he was coaching that talent.

Instead we settle for an unknown. Again. And tear apart an up and coming basketball program.

Brilliant.

Guess what? Lutz will never happen because if/when Benford goes, the whole 'failed assistant experiment' will be thrown right back in our faces. Look for a re-tread. Hopefully a good one...

The money is there.. the question is going to be best candidate available or going back to the pool of established coaches...

Mac is a hell of an example that a "retread" can work. The problem is that who is that in the basketball coaching ranks right now?

Instead of talking about defense and rebounding, Kaspar coached teams actually went out and did it.

Lack of defense and rebounding kill good shooting teams, and destroy bad shooting teams like the one we had last year.

Good defense and rebounding can make a poor shooting team have a better shooting percentage (lay up opportunities off of offensive boards, break away lay up opportunities from steals) while limiting the shooting percentage of the other team.

Kaspar would have been the perfect short term coach for last year's team.

Crappy defense has been my biggest Benford disappointment among many.

I think SMU is another great example that if you put the money in and hire the right coach great things can happen.
