Quinn Shanbour's future plans changed in a hurry.

Shanbour, the former Heritage Hall quarterback, had returned to Connecticut after Christmas break, where he was a football player at Choate Rosemary Hall, a preparatory academy in Wallingford.

But the option to walk on at Oklahoma State quickly presented itself, and Shanbour was set to board an airplane Thursday and begin classes in Stillwater on Friday.

Billy, hope you're wrong on Cousins. Kid is not a D1 player not even scout team material.

That was for Z. Wallace, not Sir Calvin. The latter is killing it every week according to the workout reviews.

Z stands for Zero which is his nickname I believe.

Sorry guys I am not the smartest on this board but don't understand, the topic discusses concerning Quinn and how does Wallace, Sir Winston or Anthony get into the picture? Or like my 16 yr old son says "dad you are technologically challenged".

Bc it's also discussing the offseason workouts.

I can't figure out where the hell this kid started out, where all he went, and what sort of eligibility he has. I've seen "Heritage Hall", a basketball picture with a "Stillwater" jersey, and some mention of a prep school and finally Connecticut.

You know......I think the term "circuitous route" was originally coined to describe most college football players.

Can someone please put this young man's journey into linear terms for me.

He was at Bishop McGuiness, transferred to Heritage Hall, then to a prep school in Connecticut, enrolled at OSU, now he's here at UNT. A lot of moves for a young kid!

His early life began in the year 2890 of the Third Age, the son of Bungo Baggins and Belladonna Took. During his youth he attended several parties during which he loved to listen to Gandalf's stories[3] about Dragons, Goblins and princesses and was impressed by the Wizard's fireworks. After the death of his parents, respectively in T.A. 2926 and T.A. 2934, he inherited Bag End. In the eyes of his neighbors, he originally seemed just like his father, a solid, sensible, unadventurous and respectable hobbit.[4] But when becoming older he started to become "strange" and often left his home for many days to meet with strangers, including Dwarves.

Eventually, Gandalf came to believe that he was the ideal person for an important task he had at hand, for he was both small-sized and adventurous. Gandalf came to the Shire to visit him in T.A. 2941 but he had disappeared again because of Elven new year.

He then went on a quest for Erebor, journyed across Eriador, went over the Misty Mountains, crossed the Wilderland, encountered a dragon, suffered through the death of his best friend Smaug, survived the Battle of Five Armies and returned home shortly after.

I hope that help to clear it up for you.

Shanbour is a quality player and will benefit the team both athletically and academically. During high school he only played his Sr. season at Heritage Hall (the same school that an undersized Wes Welker graduated from) where he broke the school's single season passing record (37 TDs with only 4 int.). In fact, one of his passes made ESPN's play of the day where he threw a 70 yard bomb to Barry Sanders Jr. Of course, it helps having Barry Jr. and Sterling Shepard (now at OU) on the team. Despite his single season accomplishment combined with the fact that he is 5'11 or 6 foot, he didn't receive many looks from D1 schools and so as not to burn D1 eligibility he opted for Choate Rosemary Hall and continued his performance and was named All New England QB. He received a lot of attention from Ivy League schools. However, when OSU made a preferred walk on offer for Spring ball, he followed his heart and joined the team in the Spring of 2013. He was invited back for Fall Camp reserved for scholarship players. During a scrimmage, he had a severe turf toe injury which would have sidelined him most of the fall season so OSU decided to by pass him and opt for other taller QBs. North Texas in turn has offered him an opportunity. Got to credit the kid, he refuses to give up. He will be a redshirted Freshman. Here are highlights of him while at Heritage Hall and Choate:
