NT wins 7-1 over James Madison in first round of University Georgia Tourny

Pitchers duel with JMU up 1-0 after six

Native Georgian Miller hits game tying HR in Seventh

NT explodes in extra inning 8th with 3 hrs, Foster, Strunk, Huff

Winning pitcher Ashey Kirk going all 8

Spring is HERE!

Great start. Think the JC transfer Strunk struck the game-tying homer in the seventh.

Miller gets the game winner in the 8th.

And per twitter,Bryanna Wade throws out two runners in the first inning to keep it scoreless, then gets a homer in the 8th.

So proud of Ashley Kirk...gamer.

Congrats to Coach Kee on your first NT win....lots to like!

Beat #23 Georgia this afternoon!

Team is making way too many errors and so far looks like pitching may be a big issue. Kirk is a good pitcher, but even in softball; she can't pitch every inning.

I do think their new coach is a substantial upgrade, so I have hope for this season.

Won today vs Wintrop...Kirk strikes out 13.

We lost to this team yesterday.

Finish the weekend 2-3.

I won't be able to see the home opener (thank God Valentines Day isn't during football season) but the softball chicks (their preferred generic descriptor...I asked) play Friday and Saturday.

North Texas 8, Nicholls St 4

and

North Texas 9, Southern 0

to start the tournament 2-0 and move to 4-3 on the season

vs. Northern Iowa today at 12:30, Lovelace Stadium - Northern Iowa is 5-1 and has wins over Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina

Wow, AK gives up 5 in the first, then keeps it close until NT offense pulls it out.

Three run walk off by Taylor Schoblocher!

Dani Hoff's has found a groove at the plate, 3-3 for the second game this weekend, I believe.

Ashley had a tough game one, then started rough in this one and pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the 6th.

Coach stuck with her, and was rewarded. Gutsy AK!

Well done, 5-3 softball chicks.

Next up is a tough Texas State squad Thursday at 5 pm. Play ACU afterwards.

      Don't get to far ahead of our self we will have to #hit6 first. I would act like this bowl is bad. if your team was better we would be in a better bowl. like I said before, I do not care which bowl, just win.

      Around the League / UNT Opponents

      as mentioned in another thread, three pretty easy wins last night (11/19) for Rice, Tulane and Charlotte. Evansville lost 80-30 to Ohio State. UNI won. not all, but the most interesting games coming up: tonight (11/20) - not a ton...Tulsa host UALR (who already blew out UTSA), but if Tulsa is any good should take care of. 11/21 - Memphis @ San Francisco ; FAU v. Oklahoma State (3 day tourney...would play Miami or Drake next) ; Oregon State host Oregon ; Houston Christian v. Rice ; ECU v. Jacksonville State (3 day tourney...would play Toledo or Stetson next) 11/22 - Utah State v. Iowa and St. Louis v. Wichita State (same venue, but not a tourney) ; McNeese v. Illinois State and UAB v. Longwood (same side of bracket) ; Temple v. Florida State ; ECU/FAU game 2 of 3 11/23 - Temple v. UMASS 11/24 - High Point v. Missouri State (3 day tourney...would play ODU or Boston College next) there will be more games 11/23 and 11/24 as some of these tournaments shake out, but definitely some interesting games starting tomorrow

      Texas Wesleyan (11/21/24)

      Texas Wesleyan is one of those athlete mill schools that take advantage of kids/parents who really want to be a college athlete. The majority of students at the school are athletes and the teams will take almost anyone to be on the roster as long as they can qualify for an overpriced college loan to afford the tuition.
