You can't sign a non qualifier. This certainly has the feel of us taking a chance on him qualifying and holding a scholly for him.

Just supposition at this point. No confirmation. Unfortunately, when highly rated players do not sign, history shows us that qualifying turns out to be the most common reason.

I hope whatever issue is holding this up works its way out soon and we see Mr. Chumley wearing green very soon.

If you're smart enough to play quarterback then you should be smart enough to qualify. However, he could have missed some core curriculum. I tend to believe that his foot/ankle injury hasn't fully healed but I'd feel better if he could rehab under Wintrich.

This has qualifying issue written all over it. If he were hurt enough to cause a greyshirt he probably wouldn't be the leading scorer on his basketball team right now. Late qualifiers are a great way for us to acquire talent.

I don't have any info, but my brother averaged 21 and 12 in his HS senior year with a stress fracture in his foot. But as soon as season was over he was in a boot until it healed. Still could be an injury, just one he can play bball with.

No it wouldn't. Coaches cannot comment on players that have not signed and LOI to play for the team the next year.

Believe what you want but he played a minimal amount of games his Jr and Sr year due to this injury. Maybe there's a qualifying issue too. I don't know that.

Hopefully it is nothing, but it seemed like it got kind of weird. Usually there is a reason. Whatever it is, I hope it works out for everyone by next Fall.

If he said something about the Desoto players, it was a mistake. Per NCAA regs, no coaches are allowed to talk about recruits until they sign their official LOI.
