What color is that helmet on the left? Is it gray? Why?

Disclaimer: I am super color blind. At the bowl game, I thought the helmets were black with barely visible silver eagles.

Gray is a universal baseball/ softball uniform color. Seems like so many teams use gray even though it is not one of their colors.

I would imagine that a ball thrown underhand would have a tendency to rise … trying to keep the ladies from taking a hit to the face.

But softball pitchers tend to have great control considering the throwing motion is the natural motion of the shoulder joint. It just never made sense to me.

Not every one uses them. Just personal preference. Kinda like hockey players and face shields.

ummm because the pitchers are hurling canon balls between 60-70 mph from 43 feet away. That is less than 15 yards I'm surprised that they don't wear full body armor. Lord knows I would be.
