Thank you UNT fans for all the support, time & effort you guys put in my cousin Xavier to get him to UNT.. He loves UNT & the coaching staff he had a great time on his visits in Denton. He is a academic achiever & just could not pass up a $360,000 scholarship offer from Northwestern.. If it wasn't for the academics he would be signing with the mean green. Me personally I love UNT & wish he signed to yall.. Go Mean Green!

Thanks Marco...we can all appreciate that coming from someone so close to X. I had a big hunch that it might be down to us and Northwestern but pending on whether or not he got a full scholarship offer from them. Can't say I blame him whatsoever (NW is a great school) and I hope he wrecks havoc on all of the Big 10 teams except for Michigan State (parent's Alma Mater) #StartingDefense #PlaceAtTheTable

Really appreciate the love. One thing regarding academics, however. The high price tag associated with a school like NW is purely perception and not necessarily real value. UNT is a fine academic institution that in many fields can hang with the top elite schools. I am guessing he is drawn to study something where NW is ranked higher, so I get that. We certainly have programs ranked higher than them but if the opposite was the case, you can't blame him and wish him the best. If he doesn't end up liking it, I am sure our great coaching staff will have the doors open for him.

Hope things work out well for him. Feels better losing out to the Big 10's purple school than the Big 12's.

Who knows, maybe we'll see each other in a bowl game or wearing green down the road.

I appreciate your time & info on this board. If you ever want to come to a UNT game please let us know. I'll gladly get you tickets & I'm sure a lot of people on here would welcome you to their tailgate ( myself included )

Yes... coach said if things don't workout .. He can still come to the Mean Green.. U never know!

If he gets homesick, there will be a spot for him at UNT. Best of luck to Xavier.

      2025 DC Wish List

      I really think everyone is overthinking it. Find a defensive leaning high school head coach in the state of Texas near the I-35 & I-45 corridor. Bring him and another defensive coach from the high school level he respects most. Because defensive players we have need more one-on-one attention to just be decent. So the only way to increase that one-on-one time with limited practice time by NCAA rules is more coaching bodies. I also think that having coaches fresh from the high school ranks are better scouts for targeting talent that can be flipped from offense to defense.

      2025 DC Wish List

      I only think Carthel is HC in waiting if Morris gets hired away. If he gets fired then that most likely means they are going to hire someone outside the current coaches and that means Carthel is most likely not retained by the new HC. I am not sure he would walk into a situation where he feels the HC is on the hot seat.

      Parking

      My guess is the blue lot is sold out because of the package given to certain levels of season ticket holders, then they don't show up. I have a spot in the Blue lot spaces as part of the package. My spot goes unused every week except for the Army game.
