Just FYI this list is pinned on the of the site where we also place the latest recruiting news. Things are starting to really heat up with National Signing day less than a week away... stay tuned!

Is Chumley more or less a done deal? I recall that he committed and then Vita said hold up on this commitment as it is not as solid as originally believed.

Committed, but there's a hold up on whether or not he can sign with us.

Holy crap, our WR commits are skinny. I'm sure it's lean muscle mass but 6-3, 170 and 6-5, 185 etc. is REALLY lean. Of course they're also extremely fast so that definitely helps.

On the other hand, look at the size of our QB's ~ 6'4", 6'5" and 6'6". Although, I suspect Chumley may take on a different role, unless he was promised a shot at QB.

Not worried about it:

Oh yeah. Just made a similar point in another thread. I just hadn't noticed until I actually scrolled through the compiled list.

As a non-athlete who never went through the recruiting process myself, I can't help but feel for the kids who will end up being left "without a chair" in the musical chairs game that takes place during these final weeks.

The schools don't want to miss out on a possible 11th hour steal so other worthy kids are left in limbo. Hopefully, there's a good family in place if/when disappointment hits.

If disappointment hits, I hope they notice UNT's stellar walkon program and show up with a chip on their shoulder while their family comes out to be a new part of the Mean Green family. I haven't mentioned this in these terms, but Mac's walkon opportunities are very similar to how I got my (academic) scholarship when somebody else turned theirs down to go elsewhere. Being the second-chance guy, and knowing it, makes you really want to prove you were worth the effort put into giving you a chance at an education. And when you're the first in your family to get a degree, well, you really strive to prove you've got what it takes. I hope everybody who feels like they were lost in the shuffle picks North Texas, because many of us can attest to the fact that if you're the odd man out, UNT is a place where you can soar to greater heights. I'm sounding really cheesy, but it's the truth. UNT is a place where "I wish" becomes "I did."

I agree with you Jesse. And I see this happening both academically and with athletes.

Great point.

Sheds new light on the value of Mac holding the walk on program in such high regard and being committed to rewarding deserving players with scholarships down the line.
