Denton, Texas: Most Small Fun Town In America! "Small?"

Where I'm from a so-called 'town' of 120,000 (Denton's population) would not be called small at all, but Rand McNally crowned Denton, Texas, America the "Most Small Fun Town In America" a year or so back.

AND......I don't think our alma mater's town would become "un-fun" if it doesn't win again this year, would it?

Personally? I always wanted to move back to Denton to buy and run a bed & breakfast but that would be an unfulfilled dream of which I've had a few, but most of us still get to go back to our college home town on Game Days along with other UNT-related events thru the year. Denton's prime location is so convenient for those of us who live a county or 2 away from UNT, too.

The other towns on the list were all less than 25,000, I believe.

Denton is indeed not small.

My hometown would have been one of those good short segments on the old Hee Haw series when they say the name of some one horse town and the cast hollers....Salute!

When I moved to Denton in January, 1972, I thought I had moved to a metropolis. (Denton's pop. at that time was 39,000).
