Didn't locate when the HOD game will be played. So we are now up to 40 bowl games; where only about 46 schools don't go to a bowl.

I remember our 9-1 team in 1975 (ranked 17th during the season) that wasn't invited to one of the 10 or so bowls during that time. Don't know what's worse, the number of college bowl games or 4 high school teams going to the playoffs in each district (with 2 state champs in the upper classifications)

The participation trophy, everyone is a special little snowflake, mentality creeps further into all aspects of society. Add to that ten playoff teams in MLB, twelve playoff teams in NFL, and I'm pretty sure the entire league with maybe some minor league teams added into the playoffs in NHL.

Remember we have the "playoffs" so it's not necessarily more teams getting into a bowl game.

The 4 teams in each district making the playoffs and separating who goes where simply on enrollment is the worst. Its all about maximizing profit (playoff games generate extra money) while trying to appease the "GIve more kids the opportunity to feel good about themselves" mentality. Some of us remember when just the district champion made the high school playoffs--I actually liked having the extra team be eligible to make the playoffs, as well, but it should have never gone beyond two teams for any sport.

I lost all interest in high school football when they separated into the two divisions of playoffs. Very stupid idea.

      Oregon State final thoughts -- game presentation, etc

      Football season ticket holder here that normally starts going to b-ball games once the calendar flips to the new year & my schedule opens up. But since UNT is a #basketballschool now, starting earlier this year. First off, anyone agree with this assessment? When I go to football games I'm just waiting for the proverbial kick to the nuts in the second half. East Carolina was a perfect microcosm of this. Oh look! We're up 21-0!! What are we going to do to blow it? And sure enough, we do. Over and over again. With basketball, I feel the exact opposite. Whether it's Minnesota, Oregon State, etc, what are we going to do to win it? And more times than not, we do!! Clutch, clutch, clutch. Well done team! I love it. Really liked the game presentation too. The only thing I've noticed is it seems the pep band is getting less "air time" if that makes sense at the expense of giving the hype guy more exposure. Kinda an ass-whip if you ask me. "SOMEBODY MAKE SOME NOOIISE!!!!!", "EVERONE SCREAM HELL YEAH!!!!". We can be loud on our own without being told, thank you very much. It s almost like a warm-up act before he heads down to Dallas for his 2nd job at Baby Dolls. With that solid radio DJ voice he can then bark out "EVERYONE SCREAM HELL YEAH!! AND GIVE IT UP FOR DESTINY ON THE MAIN STAGE!!!!". Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about there. 🤣🤣 Happy Thanksgiving all and Go Mean Green!

      The dislike for Coach O is incredible and this just shows what type of fans we truly have. His job is to get interaction with high school players and coaches and he's done a better job of that than anyone in the history of this school. His job is to get them looking at us and willing to talk to the school and that is happening.

      I would think losses to KSt and OU would be enough to keep Tulane out, but who knows. Honestly, those two losses make a pretty good case against Tulane getting in since they have no signature win except Navy…if that’s even a great win.
