"Gaining interest" means nothing. I do not see this as a "plan b" offer. It could be a preferred walk-on, grayshirt, etc... but I do not believe that it reflects on our recruiting efforts or results at this time.

You could be of course right, or it could be that for some reason they think this or that player is a top end recruit. However, IMO NT has signed players with their last few ships in the McCarney era without a lot of interest from another schools. So instead of NT getting someone like the bigger names being talked about, NT has gone down to the end of their list. That may not be the case this year and even if it is, it doesn't mean they won't turn into good college players.
