$390.00 to date...not bad at page 7.

Actual pledges:

Quoner - $100

Shutter - $100

UNT90 - $50

MDH -$50

StanR -$50

3XL - $40

Anyone talking to anyone yet that can actually approve this redo when the funds are available? Who might that be anyway?...the person to chat with?

In for 50

So, if less than the $5000 Cerebus is gunning for is pledged before the March GMG.Com Basketball game, will all (or any) of those pledging move their pledge to the event and help us raise a bit more cash for a worthy project such as scholarships for UNT students?

Just asking as some pledging have supported the event in the past but some others have not, and it's always great to see new supporters involved.

Anyone?

For perspective in the cost of a top-grade, professionally built mascot suit(which we may or not need), Rowdy The Armadillo was around $4,000 back in 1991.

Also, the president's fund should pay for this as it has a large amount of available cash for such projects. That is who paid to have the exterior and interior of the Model A redone in 2012.

Dr. Elizabeth With, VP for Student Affairs should be directly contacted about this.

At first my wife supported the new version. However, she came to her senses around the bowl game and decided that this model was "creepy". Very similar to the smile magic squirrel, it looks like something that a dirty old man would keep hidden inside their windowless van.

I think most of us can agree that mascots should be "menacing" and not "cartoony" like Rowdy or Raider Red. Pistol Pete would destroy either of those 2 in a bar fight. Big Red is the only mascot that comes to mind that was able to combine both of those features into one character. Count us in for $25 to bring back the last version.

Menacing or cartoony, whatever, just not creepy.

Oh and the previous version was great. Strong looking and still approachable for kids.
