MURFREESBORO — The MTSU women’s basketball teamicon1.png will begin its first season in Conference USA without one of its seniors and without one of its key substitutes off the bench.

Senior forward Lauren March will miss the next month after suffering a broken finger, according to coach Rick Insell.

The right-handed shooter broke her pinkie finger on her left hand during a workout last week.

March, who has started one out of 14 games for the Lady Raiders, is averaging nine minutes with 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Started one out of 14 games? MTSU will probably be able to find a way to survive. What is going to hurt is the reduction of bench depth I would think.

Petersen is an unbelievable bad coach in this game. His game plan was to jam it inside, and thus far he has allowed one MTSU player to break the all time 3 point record for CUSA women with 10 made, all almost uncontested.

67 -24 currently.

Man, glad I am not listening to this one.

I don't care how many minuses I get, so I will give you another opportunity.

Petersen game plan for not guarding Stewart has allowed her to set the CUSA record for made threes and she is only one behind the NCAA record. Most coaches might have adjusted after the first 5 or 6 makes, he did finally start guarding her after the tenth.

Wow, Glad I didn't watch. I didn't expect us to win , but I do expect us to be competitive

I don't think I have seen a college game were they left a three point shooter totally unguarded for a whole game, much less a good three point shooter. The way NT played it didn't make any difference, but still letting someone shot record numbers without any defense, to me is inexcusable. Petersen his self described it best, it was like she was shooting HORSE.

Petersen in his interview stated he was not going to let Ebony Rowe beat him and actually said unbelievably that the plan worked because she was held to something like 14 points.

This game was disappointing because MTSU had a buzzer beater last year there to win the game. In this game the NT team was obvious totally unprepared and completely intimated by MTSU. Petersen stated it is a loss whether it is 40 or 1 point. No it is not the same, this team is looking a lot like Stephenson's team even thought there is no comparison in the talent level.

I remember a NBA game several years ago where the opposing coach intentionally left Larry Bird unguarded at the 3 point line.. He was trying reverse psychology. I believe it actually worked for awhile.
