UNT NFL Prospects

IMO, none get drafted.

For sure roster invites are Brelan and Orr. Even Zach might be a stretch unless he could convert safety. But considering he was so productive in college he probably gets a look. I don't see much after that though. Just to be realistic.

This for me as well. Really would like to see Orr get drafted though.

More probably Zach Orr that gets that look at fullback.

NFL fullbacks are 250+. Weight is the thing going against Zach for linebacker. It's going against him even worse if he wanted to play fullback. He could be a bigger bruising running back, but it might be a little late to make that switch. And there's a lot of competition there.

DT as a wildcat qb?

Maybe. I was just throwing out examples of how a guy like him probably wouldn't be in the major rotation but could be thrown in for some random stuff. If he put on about 40 pounds of lean muscle mass, I could actually see him as a tight end too (can he catch? That would obviously be necessary as well). But you know more about the game than I do, so I'll assume that there's about an 80% greater chance of you being right than me...though I am the one that makes weird predictions that sometimes come true, so you never know.

Well, the thing is the wildcat is starting to become extinct anyways. I am the guy that likes seeing players tried out at different positions, so I'm with you. But I think DT would work his butt off to get a chance at just your regular old qb.

I see Brelan as the best shot for a late-round pick as a returner/special teams stud. Cowboys fans see the impact Dwayne Harris has had and I could see Brelan having similar value in the NFL.

DraftInsider.Net (run by former SI writer Tony Pauline) agrees...

"Brelan Chancellor/WR-RS/North Texas: Chancellor is a reliable pass catcher with average size and solid speed. Returning kicks and punts is where he’ll make his money at the next level. The senior averaged 16.8-yards on 22 punts returns and 28 yards on an equal number of kick returns. He also tallied two touchdowns on returns. Decent pre-draft workouts could put him into the last round as Chancellor fits as a fifth receiver/return specialist in the NFL. 7th Round"

I can see both Orr & Trice in team's camps this fall and

They all have incredible resources in Dunbar & Robertson to help guide them through the process.

I know this is a little late, but Cyril Lemon is predicted to be a 4th/5th rounder next year by this website: http://www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=9064

A lot can happen between now and then to move up/down draft boards, but this is a good sign. More websites will evaluate him the closer we get to next football season, it will be interesting to see what the consensus is on his draft stock.

Great info on Lemon.

I agree with some others that Brelan has the best shot at being drafted. His pre-draft workout will be huge for him. If he can do well in the "quickness" tests such as the 3-cone test, then he could shoot up some draft boards into maybe as high as the 5th round I'd guess.

Also, a sleeper guy I wouldn't count out completely is Drew Miller. Not going to get drafted, but should get some looks at fullback invites to a camp or two. With fullback becoming a dying breed in college football, these shorter but still big tight ends and defensive ends are often the guys who play fullback in the NFL. Drew also can be dangerous out in the flats as he showed in college.

Miller time in New Orleans! Go Drew!

What will help Lemon, Y'Barbo and the other guys who have a shot at the NFL is how they play against Texas in the opener. If I am a scout, I want to see how these guys fare against the better players on the UNT schedule.
