It is time to step up to the plate. North Texas Athletics needs and wants the support. There is no reason why we cannot rise to the occasion and start showing legitimate financial and attendance support. We need to start taking more pride in our university. The hell with TCU, SMU, ATM, and even UT. North Texas will NEVER even control the region let alone the state without Alumni support. It's time to stand up and take pride. Some on this board may already do a fine job, but if you know or think you can do more, do it. If your buddies are neglecting their Alunni status, tell them. C'mon! GMG

College sports are great because spectators can truly feel part of the program because, as alumni, there's a connection that will never exist with a professional sports team.

That feeling of involvement only grows exponentially with each increased level of commitment (vocal support, time, financial, etc.)

I'm starting graduate school here so I am not buying tickets just yet. But when I do leave, joining the MGC immediately.

You are buying tickets in that even as a grad student, you're paying the athletic fee and are therefore entitled to student tickets to the games. Ain't nobody in their right mind got any problem with that.

I'll graduate in May 2014!! and Im going to buy my first season ticket ever for next season and donate a $500 dollars for the MEAN GREEN.

And...join the Alumni Association, right?

I joined the Alumni Association this last year and it is great. Fun to drop by and talk to folks and Kram is a great guy (even though he likes to get some of you guys jive on here). Next season I plan on joining the Mean Green Club and of course keeping my Alumni Association membership. My wife and I do not make much money but it is worth it to help the Mean Green family.

      24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker

      3,715 and what, maybe 200 students (not counting cheer, dance and pep band members), showed up and witnessed a clinical take down of our recent nemesis in the second half as the Mean Green pulled away for a 77-64 victory over FAU. Oops, two years removed from a final four appearance FAU (time flies). In contrast, we had 4,551 show up to see us play FAU last year. We are starting to run out of them (or are we?), but I supposed this week's excuse is the NFL playoffs. We are down 733 or 19.09% compared to the first 11 home games last year and down 1,024 or 24.8% compared to last year's full year average. We have 5 home games left this season. In the final 5-game stretch last year we averaged 4,809 (4,316, 5,689, 5,247, 4,241 and 4,551). In comparison, our highest attended game so far this year is 4,029 (780 less) for Temple. Next home game is UTSA on 2/1/2025. Last year we had 5,247 attend the UTSA game. Can we get that this year? This team deserves better.

      I think UNT Doge needs to look at those funding trails. I’m all about creating more experience environment for our fans. For adult ideas check out the concourse activity in the Thomas and Mack for UNLV games and for the kiddos check out a Texas Legends game in Frisco. It’s nonstop entertainment. Also, how about a supporters group like the Dallas Beer Guardians in Frisco before FCD games. They have an elected Board. They have a membership level as low as $10 for the season. But this group meets religiously before every game and puts on away match watching parties in Dallas and Frisco. The after party at Miss Angeline’s was fun and connecting. Organize this on the front end before the game. Jared would be well served to hire an experience engineering team that scopes successes and simply focuses on engagement initiatives. This is not his forte - he needs a team with some influencers sprinkled in. To heck with those who don’t want to come for whatever reason (some students dormant alumni). Go get the peeps who want to be entertained at the family group and individual level. GMG
