Oh man they are looking better all the time, Cole putting up some nice numbers in December I was hoping for a nice little hat trick to bring in the new year but I guess you can not have everything. I like what others are doing as well, Nichushkin keeps coming to mind.

This team is figuring it out. Before I was pretty convinced they were going to miss the playoffs but at this point the way they're progressing I think they have a real good shot at sneaking in. Defense is still a weaker part of the team but that's something we'll have to deal with. This team is super exciting and they could be scary good in 2 years.

Yes and the young talent on this team is growing in leaps and bounds.

Tyler Seguin

Jamie Benn

Valeri Nichushkin

Brenden Dillon

With Kari Lehtonen in Goal I think the Stars will have a hell of a run in the spring.

I would like to see the Defense back check better, but Goligoski kills me and he is expensive. I would like to trade him for a solid righty and pick up another righty for the defense. Right now Stephane Robidas is the only righty we have on D, well sort of. That broken leg is tough to play with. So no righties at all for the moment. I would like to see Goligoski make better decisions, not get trapped up, make his back check his priority. Quit forcing the rush and jamming his forwards, when a pass would do much better. Learn a quicker release both on passes and shots. Holy shit and the flop on the ice in front of our goal when he should should stayed on his feet cost us at least a point last night. Please Trade him for a righty

With the salary cap and most teams at or near the cap I think trades will be tougher to make. Stars have some flexibility but other teams don't so it'd had to be a money swap. I think Nill is looking big picture tho. I don't think there is a need to make trades now because they're good enough to sneak into the playoffs and if they don't it's ok. The organization is actually very deep for defenseman. Oleksiak, Nemeth, Klingberg, Jokipakka are still in the minors. They just need a year or two to fully develop and hopefully half of those guys will be NHL caliber and ready to contribute in a big way. I'd like to see Robi stick around for another year or two. The guy has heart and has been subject to be a top 2-4 defenseman when he probably was best suited for a 5 or 6. And he's got great veteran leadership that the guys look up to. It's dang exciting being a Stars fan right now. If anyone is looking to hop on a bandwagon this is the team to do it because the future looks great.

And defensively there's also been a lot of blame on the forwards. There's been countless times they haven't carried their weight defensively so I think overall the team is still growing and maturing into being a complete team. Will take a few years.

I am with you on Robi, but the earliest I can find on him is 4 months to return and 6 months by several accounts, I guess we will see. I hope sooner. Sounds like Robi is walking now. Daley is doing light skating now whatever that is, and have not seen an eta on him either.

Probably. Tho I heard last week that Robi is telling the media that he is gunning for March and is already ahead of schedule. If he makes that happen then it will be miraculous. I think Daley is another 3-4 weeks b/c I remember hearing it'd be a 4-6 week recovery but ankles can be funky. Tomorrow is a good game but winnable. Hopefully both Seguin and Peverly will be good to go.

Daley is apparently possible tonight aong with Gonchar, which is nuts (although Gonchar has done nothing to make me excited to see him back.)

That is good to hear! We need Daley if for no other reason than putting structure back in the Defense, Saturday night was an ass beating on the defensive side. Goligoski got caught deep numerous times, made bad decisions, jammed the forwards on the rush, joined just about (if not every) every rush and had a hard time back checking and all for what. His shot and pass are telegraphed, he delays too much to take a shot most of the time, and he holds on to the the puck to long (even in the defensive zone) and gets striped of it a bunch. He is not that young what 28? That out of me I will be glad to have Daley back and Gonchar get more experience out there. Gonchar is a slow but steady player who builds over the course of the season, and I think we will see him just get better.

They'll be fine. Every team has gone and/or will go through a lull or two throughout the season. I think they bounce back tonight and get a point at least.

I hope they bounce back tonight, Kari was outstanding last night to bad we had no offense.

That Cory Schneider is a good one. I'm hoping for a win tonight as well and Dallas should have won the last meeting at the AAC. Stars pretty much outplayed them the whole game but Lundvquist was spectacular.

Did I say I am not happy with Goose? Alex can take credit for all three goals against tonight. Unbelievable!

I feel for Golioski. He seems like a nice guy, but he was in a no win situation here with who he was traded for. No excuse for losing to the Islanders. They needed this stretch agasint the East. It was a great chance to get some points.

They play the cellar-dwelling Oilers Tuesday night. This is pretty much a must win.

That was a short climb up and a pretty quick fall back to reality it seems.

Edit: Was what I posted not correct? Check the standings and the W/L record over the time since the thread started....

This team is in danger of missing the playoffs...AGAIN. Support the Stars all you like, they are my NHL team as well, but get a grip on reality folks. The team is not going anywhere...THIS SEASON.

Are you the guy who called into the post game show on Sunday saying Seguin wasn't as good as Reilly Smith because Tyler wasn't selected for Team Canada?
