"StubHub, which sells tickets on the secondary market, shows how one-sided the support should be.

As of Saturday, the cheapest ticket close to the 50-yard line on the Mean Green’s side of the stadium was selling for $150. On UNLV’s side? You could get a ducat for about $50.

No matter the size of the Mean Green crowd, however, don’t expect a packed stadium. The venue, one of the most storied in college football, seats 92,100, and a turnout of closer to 30,000 is expected."

I mentioned this in a post yesterday...if you check the HoD site, there are only about 20,000 tickets available through them. I haven't seen any info as to whether the unavailable sections are sold out (probably in blocks if that's the case) or just not being sold until the others all go, but this could be very good news. As of yesterday, you couldn't buy tickets for any of the $25 seats. I'm hoping they were bought/donated for groups and a good chunk of the recipients show up.

Has UNLV returned their unsold tickets from their allotment yet? There should be a bump in available tickets as more of these allotments get returned.

There are quite a few available on their side so I'd assume so. But both end zones (cheap tickets) and most of the lower bowl on UNT's side are sold out, with the better seats on UNLV's side also being gone. Then we have some open in the upper bowl and they have scattered seats available in the rest of their sections.

This being said... you guys are saying that there is no way in heck this is going to be just 30,000 people at this game.

That's what I'm thinking. Unless there's some sort of error in the system, or they aren't allowing people to purchase tickets for certain sections at this time, it looks like a vast majority have either been sold or possibly handed out (like endzone tickets for city employees or schools or something). Even if a lot of them were handed out to people who normally wouldn't be interested, free tickets to the Cotton Bowl for a warm New Year's Day game is pretty hard to pass up.
