I am so proud that Dan McCarney is our coach, i have been this entire time but i just wanted to give a shout out to him on how he deals with press.

Suppose I knew nothing about UNLV and UNT football and i was required to hire a coach for my program. McCarney defnitely outshined the UNLV coach. I definitely feel like UNLV is going to be outcoached at the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Dan has been here before with 20+ bowl game experiences. Dan was being funny up there, but i could tell he was being a little intimidating on purpose to the other coach.

My favorite part of this video is where he asks the UNLV coach to see if he would like to take a picture with the UNT helmet.

Seriously so proud to be MEAN GREEN

Absolutely no question but that Mac won the interview session and should win on the field January 1. But, don't sell Bobby Hauck short as a coach. He won, I believe, three national FCS championships with Montana. He's not as personable, experienced or has quite the talent on his UNLV team but I expect the Rebels to show continued improvement under him. He's taken a rag-tag team and turned them into winners as well.

I am glad that Dan McCarney is our coach. He is building this program the right way and we can see many signs that the sleeping giant that is UNT is beginning to wake up.

Count me as one who was underwhelmed when Mac was hired since I'd not heard his name mentioned with all the Mark Stoops/Mike Leach threads during the hiring process, but I couldn't be more proud of how he's transformed the culture of this program.

The only thing that would've made this press conference better would've been for the fight song to interrupt the proceedings (WWE style) and the camera pan to RV storming the stage to present Mac with his contract extension to sign.

I think it is always easier to go up when you have been at the very bottom. The challenge, and my overall assessment, will be in how he is able to sustain the success and build on it. I can't say that we were a better football program after our 4th Sun belt championship from our 1st. The recruits didn't get better nor the exposure. Dicky then quit on this program.

We have so much more to work with (salaries, nice stadium and regional conference) where we will really see McCarney' s contribution. Very good job in year 3!
