I'm catching the 7am train. After changing trains downtown, I'll be at Fair Park just before 8:00. I've paid my tailgate fee and plan to experience it in its entirety.

Excellent...the Denton train arrangements seem to be such that the riders will miss the opportunity to attend the tailgate. Glad to know that all the stations will not experience the same. Was a main reason I decided against the train.

Have you not been on a train before? Sometimes the first time can be a little rough but for me it was a good experience. i think you'll enjoy it.

Not true at all. My DCTA train pass that came with my ticket is good from very early morning Wednesday until 3am Thursday morning, and is a regional fare, which makes it valid on DART. I plan on arriving Fair Park via train shortly before 8am.

Furthermore, let's say that for some reason, I discover my ticket isn't valid. I'll still pay the dirt cheap train fare over the crowds and $20 parking and gas of driving and parking.

According to the link below, the A Train won't start running until 8:30 on New Years Day, getting you to Fair Park around 10:11. Assuming that's all true, sounds like you could drive to Carrollton to catch DART early and get to Fair Park in plenty of time for lots of tailgating fun.

Ok. I wasn't thinking in terms of DCTA. I'm going to Carrollton.

Don't think this applies if you are trying to take the train form Denton. Believe the first A train run is around 8am or so.. Getting one to the Cotton Bowl around 10:30-11am. Have they changed that schedule? It 'a the folks trying to get there from Denton using the train service...so, maybe a bit fast on that not true at all thing if you are trying to get there from Denton. But, maybe the schedule has changed. Has it? Hope so.

See above. I wasn't thinking in terms of DCTA because I live in Lewisville, so it's just easier to go to Carrollton.

I'm taking red line from Parker station, switching to green at pearl and then to the cotton bowl stadium!!!! Go Mean Green!!!!

I'm going to pick up the Red line at downtown Plano (so I don't have to pay for parking) at 7am. If you are going early as well, maybe I'll see you.

Is it better to go their? I've never taken the train out of plano

so how about UNT admins speaking with DCTA so the fans riding the A-Train can get in on the fun rather than arriving right at kick-off provided they can get tickets quickly and into seats

If you don't live in a city that pays for DART, you have to pay to park at the Parker Rd. Station. Otherwise I'd be going to Parker Rd. too.
