They also did very little to accept responsibility. Telling Harry to post something is dodging it. We all know RV posts on here, why couldn't he have done it? Why not record a 1 minute apology video from his phone to post on here? With how this has played out, I almost get the feeling they don't actually think they've done wrong. This coupled with the lady I got on the phone that was abrupt and cold when I asked how I could actually get my tickets.

Posting on a fan website is hardly the professional way to handle the situation. Email your fans. Hell, call them if you have to, but don't pass information to the owner of the fan website and hope he posts the right information (nothing against you, Harry, but things often get lost or misunderstood in translation).

Just do SOMETHING.

Regarding sending a general email out, I struggle with how they could do that without possibly causing more confusion and frustration. I'm under the impression that they didn't have a quick way to determine the status of folk's tickets. There were multiple scenarios at play. I understand that some people thought their tickets were being delivered but are actually in with will call. Others were with FedEx and just delivered late. In my case, when I called the ticket office, they had to check through the will call tickets and then call FedEx before they found where my tickets were (in transit to my house). If they had sent out an email that basically said they didn't know the status of people's tickets, imagine the chaos at the ticket office when people started calling after the email went out. Sounds like it is already more chaotic than can be handled with the current staff.

Just speculating, but may they are waiting to give time for tickets in transit to be delivered before they send out a broadcast email focused on those whose tickets are actually in will call.

There is a lot of speculating going on. Without knowing all the details, I don't think we can be assured they aren't taking the best actions feasible to address the situation.

RV meets accountability with new president!

It could get interesting, and just what we need.

Did this fiasco only impact MG Club/season ticket holders or was it anyone who ordered through the AD? Has everyone affected now received their tickets or are there still some people who don't know where their tix are?

Anyone who ordered directly thrpugh the AD. I know that I had to ask where my tickets were on Friday after talking to the tocket office 3 separate times on Thursday trying to order tickets to the NYE party and Gameday tailgate.

Even though they had me on the phone Thursday, no one bothered to tell me that my tickets had not been mailed.

So, if someone ordered directly from the ticket office and doesn't read GMG.com, unless they have already called the ticket office on their own to ask whee the tickets are, they are still waiting for tickets that will never come.

And 2 days before the game, the ticket office has lifted nary a finger to let them know what is going on.

from what I've gathered and am hearing:

- folks who ordered online and selected FedEx received their tickets via FedEx

- folks who ordered online and selected WillCall have either picked up their tickets or will pick them up at Will Call

- folks who walked into the ticket office and purchased tickets and paid $10 FedEx charge received their tickets via FedEx

- folks who called the ticket office and paid the $10 FedEx charge received their tickets via FedEx

- folks who talked to their "service representatives" from Aspire paid $5 (sometimes) and did not receive their tickets

unless I missed something, it seems like part of this error had to do with terrible communication skills between the athletic department, the ticket office, and the outsourcing sales staff. Did anybody else arrive to a similar conclusion or notice that same pattern? or am I just crazy

Think you pretty much nailed it. I will NEVER order tickets by phone through the ticket office again.

What the heck is "Aspire"?

I ordered mine by calling the ticket office. They told me I could either pick them up at the ticket office or pick them up at will call. When I went to the ticket office, they couldn't find them. They eventually told me my tickets hadn't been "assigned" yet (even though it had been a week since I ordered them). They found some tickets for me.

Yep. I'll use the Internet option from now on.

I actually should have said unril there are some personnel changes, but never may come before that happens.

Hey, look at the bright side...you don't need to worry about your basketball tickets getting lost. Silver lining in everything, right? :-)

No, but I do have to worry about the ticket office sending me basketball tickets I didn't order and then having to spend 15 minutes with them on the phone to make sure my credit card wasn't charged for something I didn't order.

But that's not their fault either, right?

ticket sales outsourcing. they make calls and were apparently taking bowl calls. Eddie, Coleman..

basically, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, if you talk to a girl then it's a student worker and if you talk to a guy then it's Aspire

Don't think I have placed blame or absolved anyone of blame in this situation. Unlike others who post here. Feel free to cast stones all you want however.

No, because no one ever does anything wrong in this program in your book.

Ever.

Ed, the ticket salesman: I'll get to the bottom of this. Davenport!
Davenport: Yes, Mr. Ed?
Ed, the ticket salesman: Mr. Griswold requested his tickets be sent by Federal Express, where are they?
Davenport: I don't know sir.
Ed, the ticket salesman: [to Clark] I know what must have happened. They didn't get sent.

Edit: Just having fun here. In no way am I insinuating that Scrappy is the mastermind of the ticket snafu. :P

You have read very very few pages in my book. You speak of that which you do not know. :-)

And, unlike some, I don't believe in casting those stones toward my own university publicly in a blog. When I have things to discuss that might be of a negative manner, I take it to someone who can get me an accurate answer and I keep it private. But, like I said, feel free to keep posting. It's obviously working for ya! :-)

And that's great if that is the way you choose to handle it. Some of us chose to handle it another way because we feel some things should be public and we also don't have (nor want) RV's personal cell phone number.

The problem occurs when you become athletic department defender PUBLICLY and on EVERY issue. You lose credibility when you do this.

Want to go straight the the source to complain? Great. But don't tell others how their complaints should be registered.

Sort of when one bitches about every single thing publicly and loudly. Lots of credibility there as well. If you think adding a different perspective to you pity party bitch routine is always defending the AD, well I see your constant bitch as ripping on folks just for the sake of bitching and being the leader of the bitch patrol. Why is my perspective any worse than yours...oh, maybe because it's a different perspective? You think? Isn't it you that always says this is what this board is for? Or is it only if one agrees with your views?
