I don't know. I have asked on here and never really got a definitive answer. My wife and I will be in Dallas NYE decked out in green, but no idea where to find a good green crew to hand out with. I'm open for suggestions/invitations.

I thought there were a couple of bars by the Cotton Bowl being discussed...

I wouldn't go there at nighttime...

Let me know where y'alll are staying, the atmosphere you're looking for, and if you are open to driving and I'll lend this uptown resident's opinion to you all.

Tower Club at Thanksgiving Tower.

Tickets are $70

Seeing as most on here are in the mature crowd, I'm going to say it will be hard to beat. Most places worth going to on NYE in Dallas charge a sizeable cover for the night, so why not be at THE party?

Yeah, I'm not spending 140 bucks for an entry fee. It's not worth it. I'm not going to the bars near the Cotton Bowl with my wife at night either. Just looking for a good sports bar that Mean Green fans will be owning on NYE.

If you want a sports bar head to Christie's on McKinney, Nodding Donkey in State & Allen, or Milo Butterfinger's by SMU (will be the most dead of the 3). Surprisingly, Dallas lacks dedicated sports bars. Draft Picks absolutely sucks.

Yeah, City Tavern is great, and there are several other places you can walk to from there along Main Street. O.E. Penguin is right next door and upstairs. Union Park has a pretty good beer selection right across the street from City Tavern.

Also within walking distance from there would be Press Box Grill, the new Worthington Bar (upstairs from Campisis) and Scotty's Elm Street Saloon (good sports bar and pool table kinda place). So, plenty of options that are all walkable from City Tavern along main and elm streets.

For those going to the "official" party at the Tower Club: What would be appropriate attire? I'm guessing that T-shirts wouldn't be appropriate, but I also wouldn't expect it to be formal.

The invite says "business casual - bring your boots and jeans." Seems contradictory to me.

Yeah, I was about to say the same thing. I am probably wearing a sweater and like nice jeans and shoes. If that is not appropriate for the Tower Club, then they can show me the door and give me my $70 back. :)
