Please look away and pretend everything is OK. If anyone else mentions this incident immediately challenge their loyalty to the program. If that doesn't work, blame FedEx. It is not the Athletic Department's fault, they are trying as hard as they can. Just be happy that we are going to a bowl game, even though you may not be able to watch the bowl game because you will not be able to get your tickets in time due to the ticket shell game.

I was in process of PM'ing you to say I could pick them up at the Omni on Monday. Guess that's not a option. If it changes , I'll be glad to get them for you

Gee, I wonder if competency in the athletic department has any bearing on people's willingness to buy season tickets or attend games. Nah, that's just crazy.

I guess you can speak for yourself...would you stop buying season tickets because of some staff situation? Inquiring minds want to know and you can speak better for yourself that some vague reference to what "people" might or might not do.

Me....I'd chalk it up to human error and go on down the road. Much more important things in life to be concerned about...you?

The problem, as you well know but won't concede, is that the vague "people" are the ones we are trying to get onto this bandwagon. You and I, because we enjoy the abuse, will stick around no matter how inept things are....you still attend basketball games. But the "average Joe" needs to see that this ship is run well before he's willing to board. This isn't complex no matter how much you try to sugar coat it.

You know...I think I agree with you here. The "average" Joe could give it one shot and then just give up! But, the average Joe is not the one that has stopped going to BB games it seems as they would have no pre-conceived idea of how it "should be"....

Vague folks probably don't read this board either and that's a darn good thing! Ha!

Mark, I would be truly grateful if you would do that for me. I can't make it to the Omni because I have family coming in that night. I will send RV an e-mail requesting that you be allowed to pick up tickets for Jack and Jessica Fincher. There should be five tickets in the packet.I will be at the pre-game tailgate and I'll seek you out. I'm sure that I can find you but I'll PM you my cell phone # in case. Hopefully, I should be there around 9.Thanks again, and another thanks when I see you.

Well, crap...I just called the ticket office to confirm what Harry posted earlier...all that has changed and I cannot help now. The ticket office Will not be open New Year's Eve morning...nor will tickets be available at the Tower Club Event. Was told ALL tickets at close of business on Monday the 30th (I am still in San Diego on the 30th) will be moved to the Omni Hotel Lobby. I cannot get there due to prior commitments.

Is there anyone staying or heading to the Omni that might could help Jack out? Crap! What happened to the times and possibilities Harry posted? Geeeeeezzzzz.

Picked my tickets this afternoon. Nice and easy without any issue as only a couple of people were there. If at all possible, I would recommend picking it up there rather than waiting for one of the bowl events or game day will call.

Well...I made two calls...one to the ticket office as noted above...and then one to RV...well I emailed him and he asked me to give him a call...which I did!

He said tickets WILL be available at the Tower Club Event on New Year's Eve...so GrayEagle...I WILL be able to pick up your tickets! Confusing, I know, but good results. I'll get them and have them for you at the tailgate at the Embarcadero Bldg on game day morning.

Glad I could help you out. Will make sure to call if any future challenges arrive.

But...good news!

 Let me go on record to say I'm personally embarrassed for all concerned and even feel a bit of empathy for those who have goofed up. Like they say............."If you've ever made a mistake you'd know how they feel?"

Personally, I think the HOD Bowl game along with the Indian summer day projected for next Wednesday will give us our all time number of North Texas alums and Mean Green fans at a single game in our 100 year history of playing college football. I think that's really what's going on here.

Again...from my call and discussion with RV himself at about 5pm -Dallas time -TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE to pick up at the New Year's Eve Tower Club Event! That directly from our AD! So, I'll take that as a fact and will be there to pick up GrayEagle's tickets for him.

Anyone else need help? Happy to pick your tickets up as well as long as you will be attending the pre-game tailgate event before the game. Got to have a definite place to get them to you...simply cannot be having to look for you. I am not missing even 1 sec. Of this game! :-)

Go Mean Green! Beat UNLV!

"Thank you for calling 911. If you called five minutes ago you were told that we were sending police to your home. Luckily you called back for clarification...please meet us at your nearest Tom Thumb where we'll have a table set up"

All this is beginning to look like a scene from the TV series MASH!

Can't you just hear Radar O'Reilly making all these various changes on his P.A. mic ? :)

Ha! Agree...now this Is funny folks...situation reminds me of the "too many cooks in the stew" thing...or something like that!

Good one Plumm!

That's some good stuff there Lt.

Did you get any City of Dallas Employee to help you out with the free ticket thing?

Nothing beats a consistent message.

Maybe someday we will experience one.

Dear RV,

Make a list of times when and where will call will be. Go to a copy store and get it blown up to 2''x4' and have when and where people can get there tickets written on it.

Make 10 copies and pasts them by every phone in the ticket office.

This isn't hard, but it is embarrassing.

Seriously...why is this worthy of a -1? Not any sarcasm, a compliment to Emmitt and a simple question from an earlier posting...just checking to see if he got it covered. Darn...tough audience here!

What you say might not be hard, but obviously proper phrasing and use of the English language is tough for some! :-)

See, I put that :-) at the end!
