Since he already paid me for them I'll let them go for half price.

I don't think I'll need any extra , but I'll keep you mind if I know of anyone looking ;)

Got tired of watching the shellacking Rice was taking in the Liberty Bowl... So I switched it over & was pleasantly surprised at the 12-12 score. I did not know Space had transferred there. That Aggie team looked like they were thinking about which NYE parties they were attending rather than the game. Not sure what got into the Mean Green tonight, but I hope they show up every night during conference play. Feather in their cap on the year. Congrats to the guys!

Looking like its gonna be a bad evening for Aggie fans. Looking like they're gonna lose their bowl game as well.

What a great win that was. Not a lot of teams go into College Station and win, especially blow out the Aggies. I really hope this is us turning the corner and not just an aberration.

At the beginning of the season, I figured a 9-5 mark going into conference would be acceptable. This seems very doable now. Just one week ago, it seemed almost impossible.

Go Mean Green!

Why are we slammed for being "directional"? I don't get the sentiment.

No one slams USC for being Southern, or UNC for being Northern.

Is there some government-level logic (funding?) behind the naming? I never worried about this; UNT COM seems to exist outside this mentality.

*edit: UNC is not a good example. But Southern Cal...

I was going to say being a "directional school" didn't seem to bother UCF against Baylor. You could add UCLA which is a city school. At least, we are not an "Aggies" school.

Because those programs have built up name recognition for decades, if we had national championships and $3.5 billion endowment no one would care we were North Texas. Most move ups in recent times have had directional names and that has created a stigma.

A belated congrats to Coach Benford and the Mean Green! I thoroughly enjoyed watching that entire game on FSSW.

Coach John Wooden who I was once priviledged to see coach his UCLA Bruin team against Guy Lewis UH Coogs in a pretty famous basketball game held inside the Houston Astrodome said this (among many others of his quotes).

You can't let praise or criticism get to you. It's a weakness to get caught up in either one.

John Wooden

LOL!!! A&M announcer just said.....

"When I think of North Texas basketball I think of Bill Blakely"....

Damn straight!

Rick

Blast from the past. I saw us beat A&M once under Blakely in the old pit. Of course they were still all white back then and had an Olympic shot put champion as a center, (Randy Matson).
