UNT90 Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 60,000 tickets sold for the N.O. Bowl. Sad that we can't support our school like UL-f'in-Lafayette Fixed. Wish they woulda come with us instead of that crap head in San Antone. 1 1
bleedgreen4ever Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Wow. But…what can "we" do? I'm talking about real substantive action, not just "spreading the word." We need to improve our numbers and fast.
drex Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 So we should admonish ourselves because two teams from Louisiana, who are natural rivals, are selling more tickets to their game than our game vs. UNLV? Put some blame on UNLV, who will bring a pitiful crowd. Of course, we could do better, but it is no joke that we got the least appealing opponent from out fans' perspective. 6
Green92 Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Kinda like the baskeball team sucks threads. Every few days a new one starts. 2

You think if we were playing SMU we'd have sold 60K+ seats between the two schools? I mean I'd love to think so, but highly unlikely. 3
Green Mean Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Our first winning season in 9 years. We have a history of apathy. Let's be patient...we can't control what's not in our hands. Just keep on winning and be on a quest to get noticed by the average Joe out there. 2

Especially when you consider some on this board have only seen a 1 season winning streak at North Texas. 1
emmitt01 Posted December 20, 2013 Author Report Posted December 20, 2013 Excuses, thy name is North Texas 2 2
GMoney Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Those who need to hear the message most likely aren't on this board reading it. 3
PlummMeanGreen Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Those who need to hear the message most likely aren't on this board reading it. Isn't that the situation most the time, GMoney? Word I've heard is that we actually hire people to get the word out. GMG!

jacksondf Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Ticket sales will come. I called the ticket office today to buy six seats and they told they wouldn't be able to tell me the rows/seats available until all of the season ticket holders were finished, which would be next Thursday or Friday. I'm hoping a lot of people are waiting to see what's available before pulling the trigger.
KRAM1 Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) Excuses, thy name is North Texas Darn...are you having an LSD trip? You sound like some guy named KRAM. Be still may heat....totally agree! Excuses and talk....cheap and seemingly a hallmark of the UNT fan base. Like teams who have been losing, the UNT fan base needs to learn how to win. The HOD Bowl is the start. Let's hope the learning curve is not a steep one! Edit: But, we all support the players, right, even when we don't show up at the games? The players know the support is there through ESP! Right? Edited December 20, 2013 by KRAM1 1 1
All About UNT Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Amon Carter is almost sold out but everyone knows that it isn't due to Navy and MuTs fans. Of course they have $20-$30 ticket prices (End Zone and Upper Corners) http://armedforcesbowl.tix.com/GenericMap.aspx?EventCode=595208
PlummMeanGreen Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) This predictable because the City of Fort Worth & TCU do a good job of selling tickets to the locals for "THEIR" bowl game. FW and TCU don't want to be embarrassed with a small crowd at ACS.. Some of you told me you went to this bowl game last year and saw all this FW & TCU civic spirit firsthand. Said right after we were given a G5 opponent that in hindsight with HOD not really (seemedly) hustling to get our school a P5 opponent that Coach McCarney and the Mean Green would have been better served playing Navy at ACS. With what we have sold thus far and will continue to sell, we would be looking at Standing Room Only for that FW bowl game and I say that being as serious as a heart attack. GMG! UNT90 Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 You think if we were playing SMU we'd have sold 60K+ seats between the two schools? I mean I'd love to think so, but highly unlikely. No. If we were playing Texas Tech, I could see 50k between the 2 schools
greenjoe Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 I heard a HoD commercial on the way home tonight(f). It asked if you like football ? Do you like Dallas ? Then you should go to the HoD Bowl. No mention of North Texas or UNLV. Just go to the bowl because it's the bowl. GO MEAN GREEN
Green P1 Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 Didn't you start a thread like less than a week ago about us embarrassing ourselves with bowl attendance numbers? 4
meangreener Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 Didn't you start a thread like less than a week ago about us embarrassing ourselves with bowl attendance numbers? Except I wasn't using Lafayette as a comparison. 1

UNT90 Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 Thanks for your in depth analysis, genius. Making friends. Influencing people. 6
meangreener Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) Making friends. Influencing people. So concerned that I'm not making friends on GMG. So concerned. Just biding my time here until I lose my temper and get banned. I've already gotten in trouble for responding to people making fun of our Homecoming queen on here and not standing by while people throw every profanity possible on here in an angry hate filled rage. I do not care anymore. Edited December 21, 2013 by meangreener 1 1
