I don't watch the show, but they HAD to know his beliefs before hand. Here's the thing about rural people, of all races, they are often very devout in their beliefs. I believe that he had also said something along the lines of he treats people with respect regardless of their beliefs. The quote, like many others, appear to have been taken out of context. I heard a report of another personality state someting along the lines of "He's a redneck and all rednecks are bigots." Yet noone seems to give a damn about that quote. If you want to apply rules on speech, you HAVE to do it on all sides. You don't get to pick and choose.

Of course they knew. It is all about vilifying and suppressing anyone that is not on board with the homosexual agenda. It's not about having a frank discussion on 2 separate belief systems, it's about name calling. But it always is when you are on the wrong side of an argument.

Hope they tell A&E to pound f'n sand and take the highest rated show that network has ever seen to another network that can't be intimidated by the gay agenda.

Awful Christian of you.

And like it or not they are gay people in the world. Gay people purchase goods. A&E is attempting to distance its brand from this opinion. I agree with what he said until he started comparing homosexuality to bestiality. I have no problem with his opinion, but the network made him famous and millions of dollars. Haven't seen the contracts but A&E did nothing but suspend an employee. Never watched the program, understand it allows the Robertson's to speak about their Christian beliefs, which it should. Phil f'd up when he said something controversial off camera.

Just couldn't resist without the personal shot, eh?

Thanks for proving the point.

And you are right. A&E can do what they want. So can the Duck Dynasty boys. After the contract is up, they will have a new network, and Phil will magically be off suspension.

If he left out the part about homosexuality there'd be just as much uproar about what he said about African Americans. I don't understand or agree with his views but that is fine. The vocabulary used to deliver the message was also very poor. I support A&E in defending their brand.

You Christians keep fighting the good fight, some day you'll be accepted enough and get a president in the White House...

Something tells me the 2016 presidential election will have very little to do about religion.

Personal shot. Calling you a Christian was a personal shot? If I wanted to give you a personal shot I would have called you a huge tool or a clueless F. I was unaware that you are not a Christian. Even though you rarely act like a Christian, I thought I'd give you the benefit of the doubt.

Where did he compare the two?

"Everything is blurred on what's right and what's wrong... Sin becomes fine," he said. "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."

"Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlersthey won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."

....However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other."

Apparently someone clueless about what the Bible says is trying to make waves. That is almost a direct quote from Romans 1:27-30 inserted into Robertson's speech. And the homosexuals and "full of murder" bunch are not necessarily the same people.

Lesbian Camille Paglia's take:

“To express yourself in a magazine in an interview — this is the level of punitive PC, utterly fascist, utterly Stalinist, OK, that my liberal colleagues in the Democratic Party and on college campuses have supported and promoted over the last several decades,” Paglia said. “This is the whole legacy of free speech 1960’s that have been lost by my own party.”

Paglia went on to point out that while she is an atheist she respects religion and has been frustrated by the intolerance of gay activists.

“I think that this intolerance by gay activists toward the full spectrum of human beliefs is a sign of immaturity, juvenility,” Paglia said. “This is not the mark of a true intellectual life. This is why there is no cultural life now in the U.S. Why nothing is of interest coming from the major media in terms of cultural criticism. Why the graduates of the Ivy League with their A, A, A+ grades are complete cultural illiterates, etc. is because they are not being educated in any way to give respect to opposing view points.”

“There is a dialogue going on human civilization, for heaven sakes. It’s not just this monologue coming from fanatics who have displaced the religious beliefs of their parents into a political movement,” she added. “And that is what happened to feminism, and that is what happened to gay activism, a fanaticism.”

Keep proving the point.
