I'm hearing there will be special A-train service to and from the game. Typically, there is no DCTA service on New Year's Day. Expect a release in a few days. Good news, hopefully it will help increase attendance.

It would be cool if they could get a combo train ticket/game ticket purchase. Makes it easier for users of the service.

Download "GoPass" for your phone. It is an app for Dart and DCTA. You can buy train tickets instantly, in advance, store them on your phone and activate them when you are ready to use. It doesn't get much easier than that.

Here is some news regarding DART:

A little misleading in context. I was hoping "straight to the Heart of Dallas" meant there would be a train that skipped some stops and went "straight" there and saved some time. However, that doesn't look to be the case. It's just an announcement saying that they will operate on the normal weekend schedule which we already knew.

It sounded like they are running extra lines starting from Victory station with stops at all the stations between there and Lawnview station. That doesn't make much sense given the number of people you will likely have coming from further up the line, especially if the A-Train will be making a couple special runs for the event.

That makes sense if they are anticipating riders from the blue, orange, and red lines to switch to green downtown.

How would that work? There are only so many rail lines that can run and skipping stops would make it difficult to plan the times. I understand that we would all like to have DART cater to us and plan everything so that it meets our needs and only our needs, but in what way does that make any sense?

Most rail lines (subway, commuter trains etc) refer to "straight" there/ no stops as "express" trains. Of course the TRE kinda muddies that meaning around here.

The green line will be running every 10 minutes from Victory to Fair Park. So no matter what line you are coming in on to downtown (Red, Blue, Orange) You'll not have to wait more than 10 minutes to catch the green which is pretty time saving.

Great idea. That is what is called promotion.
